Looking over craigs and found a 1966 dodge charger that peaked my interest. Its a 383 4 barrel, 727 tranny, 3.73 posi car. All numbers matching! Dark green poly with white interior non air. Buckets and console. Car has only 129,000 miles. Runs like a watch and rides like new. $2500.oo! After a 5 hour round trip its in my possesion and cant be happier.
My plans are to fix the rust and repaint the whole car. Redie the orignal interior and reseal the motor and tranny. Headlight doors are froze open. Anyone dealt with these at all? Might be a slow start for now but after sept. 15 car will be parked and partialy torn down for paint and repairs for spring.
I have a auto fab shop so I will be showing off my talents a bit. I cater to people with small budgets to help get more dreams fullfilled. Hope you enjoy and I beleive in alot of picks. Beautiful car, I really like Chargers in general especially the interiors of the first Gen. Congrats

looks like a very complete ride, nice work on the $2500!

Dont know why nobody jumped on it. He said he started at $4500 and dropped it $500 a week till he was at rock bottom for weeks at $2500. All the gauges work and are accurate. New exhaust, all new brakes, new tires, new battery, rebiult radiator and new hoses, New power steering lines and rebiult pump. Dash lights work on and off. I installed a new switch but didnt change things. Anyone have an idea why?

3.73 rear gear was not offered in 66 Charger. Dash light problem could be power pack, fuse block, or a needle shorting out in cluster.

Score!

Apparently those EL dashes are one of the "fun" things about 66/67 Chargers.

that and the headlight motor system, along with actual working gauges as well

Bryan (been there, done that, found cures for them)

Found the motors are froze. Anyone rebiuld these things? I crawled unde the car and the tag says 3.73. And the window sticker says 8.75 suregrip 3.73. Was it available in 67? Maybe mines a late 66. Thanks to everyone for the info and comments. Im chomping at the bit to tear into this thing!

PICS-

3.73 is news to me, too.

Couldn't be 3.23?

Overall, that is a really nice looking charger.

Cool project for sure, looks real nice and the 67 is what started me on a lifetime affair with Mopar, My Mopar muscle mag came today for November, if your not subscribed to it you may want to grab the NOV edition when it hits the news stand, there's a restomod 66 Charger on the front cover, not a bad article, has a newer gen Hemi but thought you may want to check it out, Always cool to see one of our cars we have and or working on. Good luck with your project!

go here for headlight motor rebuild.

if your gauges don't work, or some of the dash lights are out, go here for repair

www.thegaugedoc.com

I have new upgraded relays behind the glove box in stock here, plus I also rebuild the dash light power packs.
