Would Like To Put Air Conditioning Into My 69 Superbee.

The Car Did Not Come Factory With A/C
and I Don't Really Want To Put The
'Under Dash' Unit In If I Don't Have To.

Heard Good Things About Classic Auto Air

Is There a Template To Cut Out The Firewall/Dash Holes That Anyone Knows Of To Use The Factory Style System?

Thank You

None that I know of. I thought Classic had a template for their systems? If not, then you might have to get creative

I made a cardboard template from a factory AC unit. The problem is locating the holes accurately against a non-AC firewall. You can get close using photos from web using the fire wall suppliers pics but I’d like to be more accurate. The best case scenario would be to find a AC car without an engine you could measure and find common reference points.

I’m going to take some dimensions / make a template this weekend if it works out. I tried taking measurements on a car with the a/c unit installed and I wasn’t comfortable hacking into my firewall with those dimensions. The car I’m looking at this weekend is an a/c car with no a/c unit installed just a bare firewall. I’ll let you know if it happens.

Non A/C

Is this a clinker? I do not know if B bodies are like A bodies, but for A bodies, aftermarket A/C units are for non A/C cars, because the firewalls are different. You would have to make a filler for the unit if it was a factory A/C car. So before you go copying an A/C car, you should find out. I'm thinking that they are different.

i bought the classics system and it came with a templet for the fire wall . i cut my dash in my 69 runner and made it look factory BUT the air flow is not quit enough to me.

if you are adding factory a/c them make your templet . if you are using an aftermarket system go to there web site down load the install instructions witch will have the templet for there system.

Haven't seen another mention of it, are the firewalls different? A/C-NON A/C?
