All 4 Drum brakes locked up

Maybe the spider gears broken in the rear differential? I doubt that the brake has enough grip to seize a wheel locked up completely. Sounds like a problem in the rear end!
oh man, say that ain't so! Yikes! :BangHead:

but...would a rear differential lock up then un-lock more than one time? or when the differential locks, its locked and that is all there is to it?

As others have mentioned one wheel vs brakes lock up changes the diagnosis considerably... It's not a sticking brake pedal, not a master cylinder... Probably not a brake flex hose since that should hold both rear brakes on... It is probably in that brake assembly or the short steel line from center of the axle to that wheel...

How does a car with rear wheel drive, and the parking brakes on the rear wheels, cause the tires to squeal from locking up? If the rears are locked, the tires can't slide, but the car won't move either....
If one side E brake cable is siezed the shoes on that side get hot. When they get hot the friction coefficient is poor. The opposing side will grab sooner as it gets hotter..
