Alternator bracket

Maybe the problem is with the water pump pulley....not back far enough. If you look at this photo you will see that there is very little space between the back edge of the pulley and the water pump bolt heads.
 
I am running one but the pulley still has to be back far enough to line up.

that water pump pulley looks too large. bad photo but doesnt look right.

Belts can be bought in one inch increments. a good belt distributor should have everything. dont just rely on a parts retailer, looking at the parts books.
 
Something don't look right. Seems your alternator is too far back. Are you sure the spacers are in the right places? What's the actuall problem, belt length or pulley alignment? See if you can get a photo looking straight down from up top.

Belt length is the problem seems the lets are either to long or to short.

I have to agree with you, the alternator appears to be back to far for a belt to stay on....based on the photos.
