Am I F'in stupid or what?

Yes there were gaskets, both sides. It's the same valley pan, just painted. I didn't have any machining done but that doesn't mean it wasn't machined before I got it right? Just found a piece of the old gaskets, they're quite a bit thinner... so there's the problem :pimp_daddy:

Hmm.. they would be thinner because they were compressed. What if you only used 1 gasket on the alum side ?

I got a pile of intake gaskets I've accumulated over the years they all look the same thickness

Factory set up will be just metal no gasket
if the intake manufacture made manifold to use gaskets go with the originals that came with manifold

x10 on no paper gaskets and I would never re-use a valley pan gasket either unless you like vacuum leaks. I have the exact intake on my 440, the holes are a tight fit, with the paper gaskets added you aren't getting the intake down far enough to line up your bolt holes.

xs 2 . i wouldnt and dont use any gaskets other than the valley pan itself on factory spec stuff. once the intake is torqued down, the valley pan alone is more than sufficient .

X3. I never use anything but the pan itself. No issues.

I just took the intake off 2 months ago, it's not new.

I bought new valley pan and intake gaskets, because that's the way it was when I took it apart.

I was going to say the heads are upside down maybe :head_smack:
