Ammeter ?

Forget about the coil, bypass, brown wire to the coil. Ignition 1 (ignition switched/run power) is present on the blue wire/wires in the engine harness. You will find these wires at one end of the ballast resistor, at one of the field leads at the alternator, and one lead at the voltage regulator. If the wire colors are not clear, disconnect the field leads, get out a volt meter and check with the key on. You will find only one wire that measures battery voltage there with the key on.

Thanks 72RR

I measured 0 Ohms from the left ballast resistor contact to the feild of the alternator and to the voltage regulator. This also coincides with your connection 72RR.

Was not yet able to bring up my electrical system to verify so thats why I used the resistance measurements.

Oh and wonderful carburetor set up by the way 72RR!

doesn't read ohms, read voltage in RUN. But, anyway, is correct you should get 0 ohms between ANY end of the ign 1 netwire. Just as the diagram I posted.

Doesn't matter the side of the ballast. The wiring can be conected on the other way around because resistors doesn't have any particular order. Important is the wiring network ;) you splice the power from.

Thanks Nacho! I believed I hooked it up where it to the same node as the Voltage regulator. It also only had one wire there as opposed to the other side with two wires. So it also corespondened to the schematic. Thanks for the info and clarification Nacho!!

I just checked my points and found that the contacts are not opening at all. Even adjusting them they don’t ooen. Its been an awfully long time since this I did this. But I am going ti get a fresh set and see if I can get them ti open up correctly. Funny they look new but maybe Bubba bought the wrong ones?
