Just looking for conformation on gauge reading. bought 70 RR amp gauge was peg to right showing charge when on the throttle. at idle would drop to center of gauge. ended up replacing wiring bumper to bumper. gauge still reading charge on throttle. smell what i thought was wire burning but that went away with the gauge showing discharge. turn light s on and gauge would drop more. replaced alt and gauge went back to showing over charge. replaced regulator and now gauge reads just a hair of center line of gauge on charge. checked volts at batt and at idle shows 13.9 volts and with light on drops to 13.3 volts which normal. should the gauge show just barely right of center on charge which i thinks right but as long as i had the car the gauge always peg to right on charge. Im thinking this was due to a bad regulator. am i right?
Thanks for reading this and responding.

youre exactly right.... it should read just slightly to the right.....remember this is an amp gauge and NOT a volt gauge. i would have checked the regulator first , but at least you have all new wiring system.

Yes, It is a amp gauge. Thanks for the reply feeling better about system not. Have a great holiday......
