I agree, the price is high. But it just sounds like another “Mopar Guy” looking for, and pointing out what isn’t original or “correct”. While I can admire the OEM resto thing, I’ve always wanted something different than everything else. That’s why I don’t have a Fox body. :D

Got a kick watching the vid. I did some cloning, or semi-cloning, on vehicles. Most of it was somewhat modest if thinking about what available options were for those cars they didn’t have that I added and swapping a few things from out of year models that were a perfect fit. Cloning, just MO, doesn’t need to be recreating an exact replica. On one ride, I ran out of available cash, with later plans to continue; but then selling it when I came across a nice deal on another ride I wanted.

That ‘Superbee’ was done crappy seeing the quality of the work and the DORKY stuff. Lol, nope didn’t plaster on 442 emblems on the Cutlass vert with the 350/auto. Sort of outright lying about what it’s supposed to be. And um, what else could be bad..

Sad part is…someone lacking the knowledge just may buy this car for maybe $25k thinking they got a bargain..

Pretty damn '**** retentive for just a damn 'clone'
probably built to taste, wrong seat/s, wrong trans, wrong shifter,
wrong console, wrong dash (needs a rally dash),
wrong color (1970), wrong hood, wrong sb 318cid motor,
wrong year of fugly *** poverty Hub Caps,
all 68s super bees had bench seats
all 68 super bees are Post Coupe body,
no HT's for 1968 in Super Bee's
(68 RR had a mid-year model of the RM23 HT) :blah::blah::blah:

prettymuch everything is
just a Coronet dressed up with some/few Super Bee parts & badges

it's a Coronet dressed up to the owners taste

it's a resto-mod of sorts, it's not even a tribute or a clone

yammering on for 22 min.s

as long as the person, selling it
isn't trying to sell it as a real org. 68 Super Bee (be a fraud)

who freaken' cares

I could only listen to that **** for like 14 min.'s
I'm actually surprised I lasted that long even...

Purist, he is way too ****, he likes to hear himself talk
only an idiot (no MoPar people) would think it's a real Super Bee
Uncle Tony's Garage...
I rarely watch any of them...
For those very reasons listed...
Reminds me of a wannabe Mark Worman...

Nick says it’s a 318 Coronet. They sell plenty of Chevelles with SS emblems, but he points out when they are factory. The VIN is WH23, so that basically tells a buyer what they are getting.

I am not into much of anything except making a reliable driver out of my cars. I have done this for many years and many different marquees. Every one that I have sold was priced with wiggle room. This way the buyer and I could dicker a bit. When sold everybody thought they had a great deal. I was happy, the buyer was happy...just good vibes. In my town over the years, many high schoolers got cool cars to drive at a really good price. It was fun for my family and I to see someone enjoying one of my prior cars.
I have had many cars that were far from perfect. Did that mean they weren't fun to own and drive....not hardly. They were different from what everybody else had and were fun.
Do I begrudge this fellow ? Since I havent watched the posted video...I cannot comment, but if it is described as what it really is...I have no issue. Why should you ?

Never tried to build a clone but my 68 road runner race car had all the correct exterior parts for a 68 GTX....the dead giveaway was the car was a coupe and no one ever said a word about it in the early/mid 80's. They always said 'nice X' lol and it was nice with no rust and was straight as could be. Sure wish I had kept the GTX stuff that was on it....

Why should you ?
Watching the vid, it’s a poorly done ‘restoration’ at least what could be viewed. My guess, there’s much more wrong, lipstick on a pig thing. What is nuts is the price – asking or not.

I got my “GTX” parts off an extremely rusty Sport Satellite back in the 80’s. A perfect grill with the corresponding trim, the cast rear panel, taillight housings and the low back buckets. It had a Buddy seat and not the console so I got the 4 speed and floor shift column collar out of a junked ‘68 Coronet 500 convertible.

If you don't have any skin in the game....why should you care ? If you are in the market, go find what you want. Plain and simple.

I thought the price was high as well. They do show undercarriage vids on all the cars and lots of pics. Most of the cars I’ve seen on there are rust free southern underneath.

Uncle Tony gets the clicks. I did find it humorous that Nick from Maple Motors came in there defending himself. It’s a business. They are in the business of making money.

There's 22 minutes ill never get back.

Why bother going over everything on this car when it's obvious from the get go its all wrong. The car is worthless in the Mopar World. Maybe drive it at night wearing sunglasses and a large hat.

I think those trunk lids are expensive. :)

I’m actually surprised it’s so low.

I’ve seen worse sell for more

Either way, I’m sure the car will sell

Got no issue at all about how someone
wants to build their projects. From
what I got from as much of the vid I
could stand, was the sellers asking
price was way to high for what the car
actually is. And that some
unsuspecting buyer might actually
think he was buying a Superbee
instead of a Coronet.
Me, being new to Mopar, wouldn't
have known about some of the things
this guy pointed out. Rest assured
though, if I had been looking to buy
this car, the ol' salty dogs' opinions
here would be heavily relied upon
when spending this kind of cash.
This kind of stuff goes on all the
time in the Jeep community where
I can usually spot the fakes.

I like UTG's videos for the most part.
He is 100% right about the car here BUT the ad someone listed a few posts before mine did NOT claim the car to be a "correct clone".
I don't see the car so much as a fraud as others might. The VIN tells the story, the car tells the rest. In terms of the car being a basic street machine, I'd be more okay with it IF it didn't have 383 callout emblems on it. To me, THAT is deception. Leave them off, along with any Super Bee ornamentation. With that, you would see no attempt at deception, just a car built by a dude aiming for a sort of-factory look.
