Ok fellas, I searched and did some reading. I'm making a big decision (for me). I've owned my'68 383 Road Runner since '93 and have only used the stock points ignition. Over 10 years ago I bought a Mopar Elec. Ign. conversion kit - with orange box. Should I also pick up a 1970 and up Voltage regulator? I still have the stock '68 style. I see that the Imperial website people refer to recommends this, I think...

Excellent decision, by the way. You'll be amazed how easy it is to install.
Yes, you want electronic regulation of your voltage - electronic ignition sort of needs that in order to be all that it can be.
Mopar used to offer an electronic regulator that used your stock wiring connections and replaced your points-type regulator exactly - IIRC it was blue, I think.

EDIT
Yep, found it. It's still out there. Here's an example:

Thanks man! I see this regulator is "race only". Is that going to be an issue on a street car?

Correct - the blue VR's are constant-output race only.

Yes, that is what I am doing. Here is an article that has served me well over the years, depending on what alternator I had. Is this the one you were referring to?

Heck, I've used them on several street cars over the decades that I've converted to electronic ignition without issue. Not sure what part about having a constant voltage regulator is "race" or undesirable on the street?
Others would know better than me, but I've never had an issue.
I've got the more "modern" one on mine and it was pretty simple to wire up as well; that pigtail is readily available, too.

Whew! I appreciate the feedback. It's seems like 50% say use the "race only" no big deal, and the other half say no. I was just reading opinions from other sites. Hmmm.
