I just recently got this from Japan, a 1983 Fernandez, Randy Rhodes model this guitar was actually pattern after his Les Paul custom when he died in 1982 Fernandez went to his mother Dolores‘s house and took measurements of the polkadot flying V that he had played and the Les Paul And they made copies of both of those guitars . This guitar is all original with dated pots from 1983 which was the first year of the production. It has a two-piece mahogany body and a one piece maple cap that looks like about 3/8 inch thick. It weighs almost 11 and half pounds and it plays better than any Gibson Les Paul I have played and I’ve had four of them in the past Gibson, that is .The body construction is similar to the 1968 Gibson, Les Paul custom one piece solid mahogany neck two-piece mahogany back one piece maple top. They don’t make guitars like this anymore. The best part it was $1000.
