I borrowed the brother-in-law’s gauge kit to check the pressure. Won’t be home until later in the week, will post the results.

Check pressure with a mechanical gauge 1st before doing anything else. When my oil pressure sending unit took a dump on my 73 Road Runner it did the same thing your seeing on your gauge. The problem literally started over night. Everything was fine when I turned the car off, next time I started it, it was acting up.

So your OEM reproduction oil pressure gauge rarely gets above 22 psi even when it's higher than 3000 rpm

My guess is that repo oil pressure gauge is stuck in the 20s

You called it. I checked it this morning with a mechanical gauge and it read 50 at idle and 55 at 2500rpm. So glad that I don’t have to tear into the engine.
