Any Preppers Out there?

Wouldn't say I'm a doomsdayer but living on the Gulf Coast teaches you to be somewhat prepared for hurricanes etc. I have a friend of mine that wants to 'bunker down' and I tell him the same thing that someone else mentioned...you won't have enough ammo to fend off all the starving people that's about to raid your *** if they even think you have some food.

Hey leave Y2k alone....LOL I worked for a computer company at the time in the support division. We got paid double time for the whole weekend to be there just in case. I played Ages of Empires while making $55/hr for two 12 hr days.... Easiest money I ever made.

Prop... I too live in the sticks....LOL Oregon has very few people when compared to other startes and decent wildlife but I'd be tempted to head to Montana.. so that would be a migratory track... Oregon Idaho Montana... My guess is some people will band together.. The weak city dwellers will die off first from violence and lack of ability... Travel light and heavily armed..LOL

I agree Chris....probably small roaming bands of folks would be the norm. I'm sure I would be hanging around the northwoods here, the U.P. and maybe Minnesota. We'll Just have to get postmaster Kevin Costner dialed in so we can trade mail now and then...lol

My wife and I were talking the other day and I said maybe we should go out and just buy anything we want on credit-but then I thought what if the Myans were wrong and we were still here on the 22nd, we would have to pay for it all.

PropWash, I re-read your 1st post and I must say you were right. Sorry! Most people nowadays don't know how to live off the land so hopefully those that don't know how to live off the land for an extended period learn the basics at least. It may save your life someday.

Hey no sweat man....Sometimes it's hard to interpret the point people are trying to get across when reading a post/email/text. Happens to me as well. I wouldn't want anyone to just toss their hands up in the air and go out without a fight. I have faith there are a lot of decent folks out there that would make a valiant effort to survive and in a just manner. I worry about the masses that wouldn't. If prepping is your thing, I don't hold that against anyone. Being prepared for any bad situation is the smart and responsible thing to do. I guess my main point is as far as prepping, logistically and stockpiling wise I just have a different point of view then the folks boarding it up.

Since it has been too cold here to worry about cars. I thought I would strike up a new topic. I dunno if its the media, or the fact that I have been listening to CBC radio too much lately. But I feel the need to be ready in case of emergency. Especially with winter approaching. I generally try to keep enough gas for the generator for a week, food for a week, and lots of guns lol. Anyone else out there a major prepper? Care to share some ideas?

ok gentlemen...its a PROVEN FACT,,,that on the 21st of december, a big huge space ship will emerge from the sky and commence to fire ray guns and totally destroy the Earth....im sure you all have read this by now. following the space alien attack, a huge asteroid will be right behind the space ship to make damn sure the earth is destroyed.

What's it all matter; the world is going to blow up when the Mayan calender ends in a couple weeks. If that doesn't work, the fiscal cliff will get us in January.
