Right where the H is in the word DEUTSCHES, is where Idar-Oberstein is. Small town that I was born in and where my mother grew up. She use to tell the stories about how the German Army quietly move troops and heavy armor thru the night to the western front just before the Battle of the Bulge. As teenagers, they would watch thru their windows from in the attic so as not to be seen by any Gestapo or SS which would have gotten them into trouble.
