Anybody else enjoy slot cars?

Thanks for the photo ! I too have a collection of afx slot cars stored away in a case I made and painted in my early teens. We spent countless hours racing those while listening to the stones "hot rocks" or Boston's first album. I will try to get a picture posted.

I use to love them, haven't played with them for 35+ years now, had a few metal flake Gold Chapperal Cars & candy red GT40's that were fast as hell, had the soft white rubber tires & custom sprung frames/chassis my step dad made out of brazing rod, custom wound motors, larger brushes... I use to go to a place Buzy Bees in Concord great race track, great cars, great hobby & allot of people back, active in the mid 60's - late 70's, I had a big carry case, I made out of 1/4 plywood, had drawers & a work platform, that carried all my spare parts, in drawers/cubby holes, a section for the bodies, a section for the cars etc..... brings back good/fond memories...
Wow, you just jogged my memory. Those white tires were awesome. How do you remember this stuff?

I sold all my '60s and '70s Model Motoring/AFX stuff about seven years ago and have been acquiring 1/32 scale F1 and classic Mopar muscle and race cars.

I'm not sure something will just click... strange things in my mind sometimes... I can't remember what was for dinner on Monday thou...LOL...

I still have my strombecker 1/32 set from 1967. It's got 55 ft. Of track and it is mostly all there except the clips to attach the track together. I had bought them and put them at my moms (where the track was 12 years ago) and my younger sister threw them out. When I asked her why she said I didn't need them. You'd have to know her. It's now at my house and I will set it up in my die cast room someday when time allows.

We had a track here in Hanover PA till last year and the mall upped his rent and he closed. Would love to get back into it !

Here is my last group photo.

And some customs I've don. I like to buy beat up bodies and re-vitalize them. Kinda like a restoration.

BTW. the old Autoworld name has been resurrected and they have plenty of mopars, not to mention a Sweet dragstrip. AFX is still around too. They just released a Chevy Vs Ford set with a nicely detailed camaro and Mustang. I'm hoping for a Mopar out of them soon.

HOLEY CRAP ! I want to come play at your house !!!

This is a Track I built for my Church Junior & Senior High Youth Group. This is just before I finished the scenery. I'll post a pic of the completed track later.
