I have a 2000 5.9 I'm going to put in a 74 Charger. I'm keeping the FI and the O/D trans as well.
Charger is a 318 car and the body condition makes me wince less about chopping on the trans tunnel area. This will be a daily driver type built for cruzing, comfort and mileage with more power than stock.
That project has been put on the back burner, however, as I've started on the Coronet.
It has MUCH better body, but will have a nice suprise under the hood, in a stock appering package. I think this one will go back mostly as stock or "day two".
Nice, now thats what I am talking about thank you both of you guys.
I am looking at a 71 RR that was a 383 4 speed car... I have the numbers matching 4 speed and 383 block but was thinking of the 11 mpg gas mileage the 71 mopar 383 got...LOL and wanted to go better with it. My thought was a modern day mopar 383
OR I have the option of a 71 GTX as well but it was an automatic.. Not sure which one to get, they both book at the same value and I like them both although I'd like a 69 or 70- instead
I have an LS1 383 already sitting here but I know that would fly like a lead ballon on this baord... LMAO! ( its slated for a 79 z28 project I'm doing as well) The thought was get rid of the 79 z28 and pick up the 71 RR or GTX
LMAO! I said it was slated for a 79 z28 in case you didnt see that but to be honest the LS engines are one of the better platforms. I could get old school 426 hemi power out of that 346 by doing a head and cam swap. But since that is not my intention its a moot point.
