Anyone here ship car parts through Greyhound?

How was your experience? It seems much cheaper than the usual UPS method..

I've done it years ago, not recently. It can be a bit less expensive, but no home/shop delivery either.

It is cheaper but like aforementioned, no home/business delivery. We've been using the Postal service a lot lately. They have been a lot cheaper and usually quicker on the delivery time, of course it depends on the size of the items too. They only ship so big of an item.

I've shipped some big parts through Greyhound Freight and it was very cheap with no issues. It was usually cheap enough that the guy on the receiving end was happy to go to the terminal to pick up the item.

Tried shipping a 67 coronet hood. Quote on website looked very reasonable, but when the seller went to the terminal they said it was too big. I wound up paying 200 bucks to get it shipped freight. That was the cheapest for my hood. If you've got bumpers or fenders greyhound wood probably be cheapest. But call first and get exact dim of the box or pallet you're shipping.

I shipped a 67 Barracuda dash frame, no issues.
Built a cardboard box for it and brought it to the terminal.
It was the most affordable option.

I got a Movie theater poster display sign shipped to me via Greyhound form a seller from eBay with no issues.

My problem is having to drive 30 miles into downtown Houston to use the dog. A UPS drop off store is 3 miles from me so I usually will share some of the shipping cost just to keep out of downtown Houston. It's usually a royal pita to go there....plus I have an account with both UPS and FedX and prepay, print my own shipping label and either catch a truck or drop off at one of the stores.

30 miles to downtown? I'm twice that far from downtown. What side of Houston are you? I'm south.

I have done this several times. Shipped BBody doors to New York, K frames to Texas, and other big stuff. It was cheap and the only drawback is the buyer has to pick up at the closest bus terminal. Just wrap the part good. Call me if you want and we can talk about it.

You're complaining about driving 30 miles and you live in Texas?
Hell I know people down there that drive a 100 miles for a pack of smokes.

Gray hound is the cheapest
but you do have to drop off and pick up at the nearest terminal.

I shipped a 71 Road Runner door from Sacramento to Tennessee for $71. That is a cheap way to go!

our company used them for years, but we fif not have to go downtown there used to be littlestops all over, guess they are gone now

The door that I shipped last week arrived to the buyers home town today, Undamaged and waiting.
The buyer was very please with the whole experience.
I'll certainly ship through Greyhound again!

I don't think I've ever used them, that's good to know... maybe try them on a larger item someday
