It would take about 15 minutes to cut and pop rivet a piece of aluminum onto that.
Speed tape.

Seriously though, they will thoroughly inspect the internal structure along with any systems that could have been affected; and repair them after analyses are completed. This aircraft will be grounded for awhile.

Anyway, I heard (not confirmed) Canada will be sending two more aircraft to help fight these fires in California.

Sadly it shows no sign of letting up....

During the 2017 (out of control)wildfire in Santa Rosa Ca. I had offered to help cut fire lines with a large skid steer in the difficult terrains.
I was told NO that I needed proper (certified) paperwork and that I would be in the way.
My skid steer was not SMOG certified!!!!!!!
I wasn’t asking for $ to help.
The fire was 3 miles from my house and spreading FAST.

In the NorCal Lake County fires I heard that private parties that had D-9 dozers were forbidden from being used to cut fire lines
because they were not SMOG certified dozers. True story

What a joke, sad world we live in. Bet if it was their house about to burn down they would let them in.

So sad. Think if the water was available and not drained out of the reservoir's then more could have been saved. Due to people not wanting to do pre burns or brush removal this is what happens. Yes, without the brush and root systems then you have mud slides. It is bad that insurance companies canceled many homes insurance due to the age of the home. We have an older mobile home in Florida, and no one wants to insure it now. We say self-insurance is the best you can do. Put the money in the bank account that you would pay these companies and let it draw interest. So much devastation now days from mother nature. Our prayers go out to those who have lost so much. Blue.
