Anyone install Vintage Air in a 1967 Coronet?

Thanks for the write up. Its full of great info. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger and buy a AC unit for my 66 Charger. My issue is even though its a AC car from the factory one of the previous owners put a 1973 360 in it. Didn't they put LA block 318's in 67 Chargers?I guess I'm going to have send Vintage AC a email to see if a 67 318 system would work.Thanks for the write up it was good.

Yes the LA was used in first generation Charger. Start a email dialogue with vintage air. They assign a real person to your quote and he and only he guides you through the course and even makes certain tech people support you as needed.

My recommendation is after you get the initial quote start sending pulley set up pictures to vintage air and asking questions.

Went to two car shows today. Drove in 103F temperatures and the coronet AC blowing 44.7F out the two center vents. Long traffic lights and the coolant rises to 205, so I shift to neutral at known long traffic lights. Otherwise under 200 coolant temps.

Won 2nd place at a show that had mostly Chevy. Was the only Mopar in attendance. In N Out gift card for $25 and a coffee mug!

I've got the 1406. I've thought about the solenoid as vintage air has the line for that feature.

Nice thread! I do wonder why you just didn't do the underhood upgrade on your factory AC car. I guess I understand if you had a lot of missing parts. I had a 67 Coronet back in 76, bought it from my uncle with a blown engine. I found a 383 and did the swap. The factory AC would blow frost off of the center metal vents. It is still to this day the coldest AC I've ever had in a car. One time 4 of my buddies and I were going to a tractor pull down in Missouri. It was in the 90's and the guys sitting in the back seat said "Turn that ******* AC down" I've never heard anyone say that since.

I see nothing but advantages in eliminating the factory system. Lighter weight, smaller heater box with electronic blend doors, less HP robbed off the motor, etc.
