Anyone used the converter?

I looks pretty nice but, I don't know anything about them, $499 seems like a good deal for a 850hp N20/Trans-brake compatible if it's any good... hell I've paid almost twice that price for a race converter... I checked out their website , www. revmaxconverters.com , some interesting stuff...

Nice find, I need a 4500-5000 stall and that is a killer price.

I have chanced more money with used converters.500 for a new converter is pretty reasonable. The converter deal has never made any sence to me.Pay $1000 for a new converter, then send it out for a complete gut and rebuild for $300.:angry1: Are the housings that much or are they gauging from the start?

I have used a PTC 9 1/2 for the past 12 years and I paid over $400.00 for it then. My advice would be to go with a reputable company.

I've never heard of this company. We've using ATI for the past 8-10 years or so. They've been great to deal with.
ATI or Turbo Action are both really good converters. If it were me I would stick with what I know works.
Just my opinion.

Hmm,,, I need a 4500 to get the car to idle better in gear and launch a little higher, but money is tight right now... However, it costs more to do it twice!!!!!!
Decisions, decisions!

I checked his seller rating 176 feedbacks all positive in the last 12months.I would try it.I just bought a used converter and spent $350 looks good:shruggy:Call and talk to the seller and squeeze him a little and see what kind of responce you get.

Did you get the 8.5" Coan from Craigslist?

ahhh..... Good. LOL!
I just contacted a guy regarding one today, and now I'm waiting on a reply.
If I could just sell this original 318 engine from my Satty and the 10" 3200 rpm Coan converter in my car I'de be set!

I'll drop my opinion here. There is none finer than a Dynamic converter. Frank Lupo makes the best converters hands down. They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. After all it is the single most important part of your drive train.

I have to agree with this. I mean you get what you pay for mostly in converters. I use a Dynamic 9.5 that I paid $575. for in 2006. It has worked flawless and I still have it behind the new 493 even though it was built for the 440. But Luppo's Dynamic converters are very good as is ATI , PTC and Turbo Action and many other good brand names. But I have never heard of this company and I have been around Mopars and drag racing since the 70's. Thats is a cheap price but that makes me a little nervous in the converter area. Heck a good 8" converter runs $1000 easy now a days. And my 9.5 converter is not set up for a trans brake. Dont get me wrong you could buy it and get a good converter with good luck but to me its not worth the chance when it comes to converters to chance one you really dont know much about who built it. I will say a good converter can make and break a good combo. Good luck which ever you decide. Ron
