I need to change out my exhaust system. I have 69 Roadrunner with a stock 383 that I use for street and show. I want a system that has minimal drone, since I am 100 miles from the nearest city of any size, but has some bark when I get on it. I am interested in Dynomax VT muffler. Does anyone out there have any experience with this muffler? Thx.

Got one (VT 17963 from Summit) on my '05 Ram. Replaced the loudazz Flowmaster that was too loud to hold a conversation at 2200 RPM and gave me headaches on long trips. World of difference. Quiet at idle and cruise. Punch it and it makes the straight through noise. The concern I have is how long the internals will live. It's been almost a year and holding up. So far so good.

That is my concern also. I am also wondering wondering about how well it will work in my car since cruising speed is about 3000 rpm instead of 2000 like the newer applications. Thx for your imput.

I have a pair of them on my GTX with a 5.7 Hemi. 2 3/4 stainless with an "X". These mufflers are awesome! The sound bad *** at WOT and they are near nonexistent at cruise . Real normal sounding in normal day to day type driving. I don't see why the internals would wear out all that fast. I'm sure you aren't driving in weather like most all of us.
