Anyone Using Cal~Track's

Just purchased a complete kit with shocks and mono~leaf springs and wondering what kind of results should i expect !! your input and even video would be Awesome !

I cant help you as I just use SS springs but the Cal Tracs seem to work very good when you get them adjusted right. From what I hear you cant go wrong using them. Ron

save the money and ladder bar your car. not that much more money.

I put cal tracs on all my cars. running 9.22@146 mph with a 1.39 60 foot. with no other change but switching to ladder bars my 60 foot times went to 1.26-1.27 and went to [email protected]
that's when I was slow.

I had cal tracs on my 63 Plymouth switching from ss springs too. going 10.30's with a 1.43 60 foot, switched to caltracs and only got a 1.42 60 foot. switched out to ladder bars and went to a 1.37 60 foot and 9.98-10.04 from 10.30

don't go the cal trac way.its not worth the money.

I like my Cal-tracs. The mono springs ride nice on the street and the car is much more predictable when the hammer is dropped. This is a heavy car with a manual trans so YMMV.

i've had pretty good luck with mine. its just a street car and will continue to be so i didn't want to get carried away. 1.44 60ft foot braking on DOT's. thats will a all iron (including the heads) hemi up front. im sure if it was a small block or even a alum headed low deck with similar power it would be on the bumper. biggest issue i had getting mine to work was getting enough front end travel and getting it to rise quickly. i took it to the track a few different times and just did 60ft's to get it dialed in.

since u got them no regrets, ur just gonna have a blast with them! its important to get the front end travel of at least five inches of travel, i trimmed the upper and lower snubbers on the control arms and upper arms to reach the travel i needed. i use the calvert 90-10 front shocks and set my rancho 9 way rear shocks at full tight and 1/2 turn of preload on both sides i also have the mono split leaf calvert offers, i have ran the same et 7 times in a row with this set up, u cant make me take em off for nothing!! i won runner up and dial for the money on the same day with this setup when it ran those 7 ets identical with a 2 to a 7 every pass. it wont work with superstock springs tho..

I'm digging my Cal-Trac's. I couldn't imagine trying to get traction without them. Would be a Tornado on a roller skate. I will say the roughen the ride a bit. I'll take the trade off

yea they ride like ****.. lol i take all the preload off the bars on the street and run with a gap. takes that pound your teeth out ride down several notches. i suppose if i lived somewhere that had good roads it wouldn't be an issue. Michigan roads suck

they are great for a car you have to run leaf-springs on {stock locations etc.} or rules that dictate you can't go to a Ladder Bar or 4 Link coil over suspension... allot of Stock or Super Stock guys love them...

I depends on your combination and weight bias of the car......like with any type of traction aid or suspension. Me personally? They are expensive for having to use a leaf spring system if you don't have to but can really help if you can't use another type of setup like that's been mentioned. A few years ago I helped a buddy that ran a high 9 second car (on moter, 9.80's, 9.30 on a small shot) and he (we) chased his tail trying to get them to kinda work and finally went with a ladder bar setup and all the issues went away. Granted, the car had a lousy weight bias but not lousy enough for the ladders not to work.
