You can download a FREE version of Desktop Dyno and do it yourself
 
Well unfortunately that isn't going to work. Apparently there is no way to share an app. I know I got this free online about ten years ago. try doing a Google search on Dyno2003. You might get lucky and find a downloadable free version. Yes, its an old version, but for the average Joe it will give you some decent comparisons.

I use performance trends software. Next question is how many good numbers do you have to put in the program? Compression ratio, cylinder head flow, intake runner length and area, header diameter and length, carb size, what kind of accessories, what kind of fuel, remember garbage in garbage out. I have a real dyno and the program is accurate to 5% majority of the time. And if it is not usually we find something wrong with the engine like valve springs excess cylinder leakage, etc.
 
yes i did use the comp one but that has been gone for years. what is a good one to buy a see dyno 5
 
Wow....been years since Desktopdyno has come up!! Had it on my much older computer.....and guys, scammers love picking up email addresses off of web sites like these. Should communicate that kind of info in a PM.
 
Personally I don't care if the program is accurate within 5% or 20% - the objective is "comparison". As long as the accuracy is the same for each combo that's all that matters. They get you in the ballpark.

I am willing to spend my time to help, if you have good numbers to input.

have everything but the intake runner and exhaust. running a rpm performer intake and stock HP exhaust manifolds. rebuilt engine so valve springs and ring seal are good. 168-172 cranking compression in all cylinders.

I just gave it a try and it runs on Windows10, if someone wants me to plug in numbers to compare the results to something more modern as an experiment we can give it a go.
I just have a chrome book no windows.

I have had fun with the DD program but every time I updated my laptop the program wouldn't work with the new software. :BangHead: :BangHead:

Those cams are so close to same it makes little difference. The Bullet cam says to degree intake to 107 still a 110 center line. So I did the Comp cam at 110 intake center
Comp cams peak HP 429 avg hp 300 peak torque 503 avg torque 419
Bullet cam peak HP 424 avg hp 297 peak torque 505 avg torque 420

The Comp makes max HP at 5000 rpm the Bullet 4500 rpm both cams peak torque at 4000 rpm
program says 178 lbs cranking with the Comp and 186 with the Bullet

with 87 octane fuel some issues with spark knock idle to 4000 rpm
It is showing a curve of 14 degrees at idle then start to advance at 3000 rpm to 20 degrees then to24 at 4500 max timing 33 degrees
I used 1 7/8 headers 38 inches long with open exhaust.

idle vacuum is 17 inches so you will barely hear a lope at idle.

If you leave the centerline at 110 increase the duration of the intake to 224 and the exhaust to 230 same lift, you drop idle vacuum to 15.5 inches and increase the HP to 441@ 5000 rpm and torque stays the same.
 
thank you for doing that. you saved me some work because I am running the bullet cam now and have the comp cam too that I was going to put in but now not worth it. Yes I have 17 vacuum now with a slight lobe. l am running the comp cam in my other car but it was 217-221 that 221-221 I had comp make it up for me hoping it would make more power than the bullet cam. the comp cam looks like it will carry the power better in the upper rpms. running 90 octane 12* at idle 33-34 total all in at 3200 rpms.
 
the comp cams is like going up 1 cam size from the bullet cam at the .050 duration. power should hold up better after 4500 rpms with the comp cam.
