I really liked my dad's (mom's actually) 56 Belvedere Sports Coupe and is the first car I ever drove when I was about 8 but when the 58 Edsel was introduced, I went ape over it. What did I know...was only 7 lol. Anyways, I pestered my dad to take me down to the local dealership because they were giving away a friction motor promo which was about a 1/25 scale. Man, talk about being in bliss lol. It really took some doing to get my dad to go down there because he really didn't like Ford products and he never cared for salesmen either but he relented after many days of pestering!

I remember when I was 5 yrs old going with my dad to the Dodge/Plymouth dealer. It was 1971. He was looking for a new car. I remember him showing a lot of interest in the Dart. Which he eventually settled on. 318/2bbl.

Sitting on the showroom floor was a 71 'cuda plum crazy have no idea what engine was in it though. I remember harassing the hell out of him saying "come on dad....get the purple one. It's way cooler."

Instead we drove off in a baby blue Dart. LOL I remember crying all the way home.

I have allways had a soft spot for Super Birds. When I was 13 I had a paper route. When I finished delivering papers I would go to a shop near my house (Creative Industries) and stare thru the fence where Super Birds were lined up end to end. I will never forget what it looked like looking through the fence staring at all of those wings lined up. When we went somewhere with my family, I would ask my Dad to drive by so I could see what color birds were in the back lot. The garage is still there. It's now a quick oil change place.

I was 13 or 14 years old...An older brother of a friend of mine had a white RR...He hit a pole wiped out the rightside of the car...Went to the junkyard and found a b5 blue 68 gTx with a blown motor...Did a motor and tranny swap..I can remember to this day riding in the back of that car...I said to myself one day I,m gonna get me one of these!!!33 years later it finally become a reality instead of a dream..
Petty Blue 67 gTx

I think my 1st love with cars was a Bronze colored 35 Ford Pick up, my Mother got remarried when I was 5 almost 6, to a great guy my step father Bob, that had a 35 p-u with a Buick engine, LeSal trans & Dana 60 rear, he would go out & street race the teenagers & old farts on Friday nights if he wasn't going racing with his new 64 GTO (later a 66, 68 & 70 Judge) at Fremont, Vacaville, Sacramento, Sears Point or some other west coast NorCal or SoCal track, some were on the week ends... I would beg him for rides in the 35 & the GTO then beg for burn outs or grabbing gears, you all know the routine, he always had some form of Mopar product as a daily driver, a trick blue 57 Plymouth wagon (moms car), a Beige 63 Max Wedge Polara, 65 Fury, a 68 4spd 383 Sport Satellite bought new (also ended up to be moms car, I took my drivers test in that car) also had a very cool candy red 54 Ford Pick-up w/390 tri-power & 4spd, I could keep going there's way too many to list, I'm sure he was a big part of me turning into a gear head, I fell asleep on many fenders out in the garage, standing on a chair while watching & latter helping him with his cars...

AS a kid, I liked any & all cars. But.. 1968 was a revelation year for me, so to speak. The new Charger, Road Runner, & Corvette blew my mind. The style of the new Charger was & still is, awesome. The Road Runner, with it's unique back-glass style, became my favorite car. And, yes, the newly styled Corvette hit me as well (although, now I actually like the mid-years better ).

i was into muscle cars since i was little. never knew anything about them when i was little but i could tell the difference by just looking if it was a muscle car or not. I always like the roadrunner as a kid I only saw one when i was small because it was the 90's an many people drove a honda or toyota. My parents owned Toyota's from Supra's to Sienna's. I never did like them but i really liked the roadrunner so i finally got one this year and i'm currently working on it. now i'm trying to get a 70 barracuda for my next project. I'm a newbie in cars so I'm getting my friends to help me restore my satellite/roadrunner clone.

When I was 15 years old, one of the older guys in the neighborhood took me for a ride I will never forget. I was saving my money for my first car and talking about wanting a Nova. He told me nothing could compare to Mopar power, so I hopped in the passenger seat of his 71 Demon- 340, W2 heads, 4.56 gears, manual steering, 4 speed and mini tubs. I remember feeling like I was shot from a cannon! That ride hooked me on Mopar for sure.

well i bought my 1st car in 1974. it was a 440-6 cuda non shaker auto. car. burnt orange for $1200.00
i use to drive to school every day and 1 day i saw a guy washing a FE5 Red/red HEMI Cuda.
from that moment on, iu had to have one of those cars with the shaker hood.
well it only took me 25 years to save for one.

My Dad liked Chryslers and Dodges. We had a 55 New Yorker with 331 hemi. He ordered a new 63 Dodge Pick and got a slide in camper. He bought a 66 Newport and another 66 Dodge Pick-Up he special ordered as a camper special. I drove them both out of the dealership. I still have the truck in dry storage. A older guy in the neighborhood bought a Baby Blue, 62 409 with 4 speed. I would wash and wax it just to drive it in the driveway. My dad bought me a 58 Impala at an estate auction. It was very "clean" but was worn out. Sold it and bought a 64 Sport Fury..426 Street Wedge with 4 speed. I wanted a 67 GTX, but Uncle Sam and I spent some time together. Bought and still have a 67 440/ 4speed GTX from the original owner. Make Mine MOPAR

In 63, a cousin had a 62 Bonneville 389, 4 speed and tri power. Had no idea what all that meant but that was my first ride in a fast car. My cousin's wife is the one who took me for a ride and 'short' shifted it and I told her that wasn't the right way to drive a 4 speed and she showed me how it was done! She's gone now but she still holds a special place in my heart for wringing it out for me and 'sealing' the car freak deal. The next fast ride was in a 65 ford galaxie 500 XL. He was my sister's boyfriend but she hated hot rods and he didn't last long. Funny thing is, he was the the son of the local owner of the Chrysler/Plymouth dealership! That car ran pretty good but not like the Bonneville ran. I think the reason I turned to Mopars is that's all my dad bought for many years...

Always dreamed of having a 1963 Impala SS that i did finally get when i was 17 just before my first MOPAR. I had two in my life, this one was electric seats windows..

When there was any mention of any street racing, and the cops got wind of it, the first place they went was my Grandma's house. He always had some sort of hot rod.
In 1966 my Dad went out and bought a brand new 66 Chevelle 396 4sp car, and went drag racing. He owned and managed his own gas/service station, and my Mom did the books
.
But then along came a 68 Coronet Super Bee, and the Chevelle was parked, and he turned the Super Bee into his racecar. It was one of the coolest cars he ever owned! (picture below)

At the same time (I was probably about 6 or 7, and in the summer when school was out, I had to be at the station everyday) there was a guy up the street that had a boat repair shop, and he had a yellow 71 Duster, and I said I will own one of those someday. I have to admit, I'm an A-body guy at heart.

Anyways, so hanging out at the racetrack's all the time, one of my favorite cars growing up was my Dads of course, and a Candy Apple red 68 Plymouth hemi Barracuda SS/AA owned and driven by local legend John Hagen. I thought the car was really cool, and I loved the color when I was a kid.

Can't help myself.......

Got a ride in a 427 Cobra....nuff said.

Could not afford one then and definitley can't afford one now.

Same for my buddies 435 hp 427 67 Vette.

Lived over seas most of my young life (military Brat) 62 - 67 . In 1968 I was only .12 Spent many years building model cars as my contact with americans was limited. I believe that this gave me my Technical ability. While we were there my father bought a 1964 MG 1100. In1972 when I was 14 I told him that I could rebuild the engine , So he bought a manual for the car ' and I read it and rebuilt the engine. Its all history from there. My first car was a 1963 SS Impala Sold it even before I turned 16. After that I had A 1965 Barracuda 273 4spd . Dont ask , Wrecked it on the Wash Dc beltway. Then I found my dream . 1968 Roadrunner 383 4 spd. Drove it all thruogh high school. Loved that car. Been into Mopars for many years. Restoring My high school dream right now 68 Roadrunner 383 4 spd car . Cant wait to finish it. Have been slacking , but I wil post all of the pics soon. Always Mopars.

Spring or Summer of 1973, going with my Dad to the Chrysler Plymouth dealer to trade in our 1971? VW Bus for a 1973 Chrysler Town and Country, and seeing two pointy nose, and large wing cars on the side parking lot with "Cheap/Discount" in the windows, then going in and asking Mr. Moulten (who also was my YMCA coach and salesman) what kind of car that was, he said it was a Superbird, he said he'd sell me one if my Dad would let me get one; meaning my Dad buy me one, but, I was like 7 or 8 then, so, I'd be waiting a while to drive it legally. Too bad the old man didn't buy one of 'em then cheap, and put it away for like 25 yrs then sell it at the height of the muscle car boom; he would have made about 100K. But, the Superbird is what inspired me!

When I was a kid, a neighbor had a '29 Model A ford Tudor sedan. He delivered mail in that car every day. (I know this sounds like I'm REEEEELY old doesn't it?). We would walk home from school very slowly so that Mr. Ross would give us a ride in his old car. I always told my parents that when I grew up I wanted a car like Mr. Ross had. When my wife and I got married, he was our mailman and still used that Model A. I did eventually get a Model A, but sold it after about twenty years.

Dad always had a Chrysler wagon around to haul us 4 kids and the camper around. The 1st one I remember was the 63. But a major turning point for me was the first PG rated movie,1974,Mom dropped me and a buddy off to see by ourselves got my blood boiling for hot Mopars and the fairer gender!
