Having my '63 Fury up on a lift swapping out mufflers, we noticed the axle stops probably should be at least an inch or more thicker. There's indication of some contact on the pipes that a larger stop might avoid. 3" doesn't help. I have HD springs and likely should replace the the shocks given their age now. Anyway, tossing this out in case anyone has done something like this on their ride and if there are sources to check getting new ones that offer more cushion. Thanks.
