I was looking at my rear axle and I think it is a 8 1/4 but I would like someone to confirm for me.
From what I have read the 7 1/4 has a nine bolt cover and 8 1/4 has ten
Correct me if in wrong!
Not with any amount of traction and/or abuse. I had an 8-1/4 in my dart. Lived just fine for 25 years with a 273 2barrel in front of it. I put a mild 400 in it with an Engle EP-22 cam, vac secondary Holley, and stock 906 heads and iron intake. I did one burnout with G-60-14 radial tires and BANG!!!
If all you do is drive it around it should be fine for a while.
