Anyone aware of a company making or providing frame connectors for our '62-'65 B Bodies? I realize, they can be easily made from 1.5 x 2.5 x .120 steel, but I'm curious if anyone is making a set that conforms to the floor pan.

The best of my knowledge, NO. Auto rust technichians, Hotchkis(way cool how they mount, check their website later b body and e only,, but you might beable to use the b body ones if the lenght is close).
 
Go to 62-65 moparornocar web site, and scan through . I believe I seen someone was making them for the 2-5 cars. I believe it was in the restoration parts. I never can find something the next day when I look for it on that site. But pretty sure someone is making them.

This one I will print ... frame connectors are underway.

Took a look at your website. Quite a project you got going with the 392 into the 65. I put one in my 40 ford and it is well worth the effort. What cam did you pick for your build? Pic of mine in my 40. I used alot of parts from hotheads as well as PAW.

Thanks, it has been a fun project. Today I finally got the front suspension out of the car, and hope to the get the rear end out within the next few days. I will then roll her onto the side, and clean up the bottom of the car. Frame connectors, paint and finish some welding on the two floor panels I put in.

I have been very fortunate, I've had very little rust to deal with. Not sure on which cam I'll be using, as the engine, while it was running very well when I purchased it about 3 yrs. ago, I have it full of oil at the moment, I will still tear it down and clean up everything. I was told it was rebuilt 20 yrs. ago, is standard throughout, but we'll see. It was in a '56 chev wagon when I bought it.

I drove it home, pulled the engine, and gave him back his chev.

I want something that will sound healthy, yet run ok on a single 770 Holly.

I'll be snapping some more pictures soon, and place them on my site.

I'm going to build my own. I ordered the steel yesterday, 2" x 3" x .120" [1/8"]
I'll use the set up shown on the 1962 - 1965 Mopar web site, will create some templates and cut the connectors from that. I still work everyday, [retirement age, but this keeps me young, mentally] so my time is limited to some extent, but I seem to get a little done each evening. I'll get some photo's updated and posted on my site soon.

Lower control arms

Has anyone used or seen the tubular lower control arms by Capautoproducts?

They look good, but I'm not sure if the added expense will assist in the handling of the car much. Looking good is part of the fun, but is this a needed aftermarket part?

Well it's reduced weight, and it's off the nose of the car. That's not a bad thing. Besides, if I had the coin to do an updated front suspension with an AlterK and rack & pinion etc. I'd do the LCAs as well
 
Ok, got the '65 on her side, and running a straight line across the bottom of the car, I don't see, why I would want that "Z" in the frame connector(s). Maybe one of you guys can explain why. I can see also, I could easily open the end of the extended rear frame "horn" and run my 2" x 3" square steel (.120" wall) and weld it to the front cross member (trans mount), fish plate the rear, and "L" brace the front for support.

The sky is the limit on what you can do with frame connectors. Do waht you want. Hell, you could use 2 inch tubing 1/8 wall or bigger and have something no one has, even incorporate a drive shaft loop. Let your imagination be your guide.
 
Worked like a charm. I was able to lay this 2 x 3 steel right inside the rear frame "horn" as if it were made for it. Several shots to help anyone else that might be contemplating this conversion. Each rail is 53" in length, which allowed several inches to slide into the rear rail. The rail extends into the rear floor pan approx. 5/8" which shouldn't be a rear problem if a passenger dare get in this thing with me....!

Also did get the rear section cleaned and painted with Eastwood Encapulator...lookin' good!

I like it. Does the connector interfer with or rise up into the floor board? Cant really tell from the pic. But I do like it!!!!
 
How bad will the carpet look when installed?
