I am trying to find out the history/life of my 1969 Charger. I bought it from a guy who says he bought it in 1977 and he bought off his buddy, who he believes bought it off another guy. Is there any one that someone can tell me how I can find out the life of the car? They tell me the Pa DMV will not give me this information. I called the local Legislative office to see if they can help and waiting for a return call. Can anyone here shed any light on this for me?

Thanks
Duda

I too bought my car off a guy who bought it off of another guy who was the original owner.

BTW, nice looking car you have there.

All states now I believe have privacy laws in place. I t used to be you could get previous owner info even if it was just a name. I tired it out here in Cal and there is a form you can ill out to get micro fish film of some records but only of the blacked out info. I was at least able to get registration history for only as far back as 1996. Between that and the bag of receipts the last owner gave me I was able to get names of the what appears to be the 2nd owner. at least with history of repairs or work done / not done back to 1986 then nothing. so from 1-12-69 to about 4/86 I got a hole and no way to fill it. Sucks too cuz I would love to talk to the first two owners to find out when the car started to slip or if it was in a rear ender and why they did what they did to it.

I have enter the car in the Detroit auto rama but I am trying to find some more info for a magazine that is going to run a story. Heres a few more pictures.

I am going to delete that picture so no one else catches it. Hahaha good one.

I've come up snakeyes (no offense, Snakeyes) every time I've tried something like that, so I'm of no use to you at all. I just wanted to say that color combo is freakin' STUNNING...don't think I've ever seen that before. Good luck at the Autorama.

I like the color, I hate spraying flat black paint on a nice paint job. it was all about reflection of the headlights.

Sometimes, even though there are privacy laws, a title search can be done, which mat reveal some info. Don't get sucked into carfax type reports because they make you pay for reports but don't tell you that they only go back a few years. Certainly not to 1969! They end up being totally useless for your application. If you know anyone in law enforcement, things can be run there as long as it is a valid reason. I'm not sure if finding history would be valid, but worth a check. Be careful what you ask for there though if you know what I mean...Again there are new laws out there but give them a call, you never know. Can't hurt to try. Worst they say is can't help you. Good luck!

Duda did you get it home yet?

Hey Razreddobie, no not yet. I am leaving for Daytona Bike week 2/28 and the car is going to the Detroit Auto Rama for March 7, Everything happened at once and I really do like to get out of this snow. So when I come back I will get pickup the car.

You forgot to paint the sides of the radiator supports black.

Richard, that was pretty mean to point out the radiator support (and not mention the fender tag is upside down...LOL.) It's amazing what each of us look for.

Beautiful combination. Good luck at the show and learning the history of the car.

SacAutoramaFeb2014 703.jpg I bought this car in 1988 from a guy named Reppert in Allentown. He won't tell me anything and I will never find out. Export tag and cool folklore that cannot be confirmed.

I think that is my old Charger! I want it back!..........joke..
Dude-A nice ride!
