Mine is about 2 times a year average also... I messed mine up putting on my damn socks once... Funny how some things will trigger it... Something hits or rubs a nerve or I get a muscle spasm... I'm not 100% sure what it is every time... Or if it is even related to my old injuries or not... I use to abuse my body allot when I was younger, I played allot of football, raced bikes, raced cars, rode quads, collected & split allot of firewood over the years too... Being a carpenter/contractor, did allot of up & down bending, then lifting & carrying heavy materials & stuff, doesn't help either, most my adult life, I'm sure didn't help either...This S U C K S !!
I have been there too, Bud. At 47, I am still in decent health, but my back wigs out sometimes. In 1999 I was making a home movie with car stunts. I made 8 car jumps in 2 different cars. Soon thereafter I started having occasional back trouble. Now with 24 years in wood frame construction, The back trouble is more often. The last time was 2 weeks ago and I'm almost embarrassed to admit what triggered it...I was putting on my pants!
Previously, the Kaiser doc prescribed Prednisone to shrink the inflammed nerves. My benefits lapsed since I'm out of work, so I used the wife's insurance. The different Doc prescribed something different, yet just as effective. I now seem to average 2 episodes per year. Each time it means a week off of work.
Because it's all downhill from your mid-40's, you have to think positive and keep telling yourself that right now you are in the best shape you'll be for the rest of your life. :icon_farao:
Buds, do you have a good bed? i bought myself one of those sleep number beds, and 75% of my back problems went away. and i sleep sooooo much better. best damn investment (and yes, some of them beds are an investment but...) i have ever done, and i haven't regretted one minute of it.
I know were your coming from, hope you feel better soon. finally got my discs fused and have been fine since .Hopefully we will both have a good week in NHRA next week that will make you feel better.
I just thought you where naturally ornery, get well soon!
Hopefully a little Honey has helped out your situation this weekend.![]()
Bud, my work has me on my *** in a chair all day. Depending how fast I walk I usually make it between 1.75-2 miles. After a year of doing that, down to 204lbs and that pain in the *** has diminished 95%.
With regards to the stretch's I told you about try this one.
Lay flat on your back with your knees bent up, feet flat on the ground. Cross one leg over the other like you would sitting down. That is to say take you left leg and rest your left ankle just above your right knee. Now while bending your legs back towards your torso (legs still crossed) reach down with both hands and grab a hold of your right leg just below the knee on the shin. Keep your back flat on the ground. Now pull your knee as far in towards your chest as you can. Don't be all herky jerky when you do it. Pull slowly inwards towards your chest and when you get to the point of feeling that muscle stretch keeping pulling it until you can't take the pain of the stretch any longer. Then hold it for about 20-30 secs. Rinse and repeat and do both sides.

Check this link out for pictures of other stretches that will help with that area. Again, stretching is a bandaid. Massage, a bandaid. To really solve the problem... Start walking and it will work itself out.
when you post make it shorter...LOL you will be there for less time in an uncomfortable postion... lay down and use a PS3 to access the web or xbox.. takes a little longer to type but it works... also stress doesnt help or a tight belt or a wallet in the back pocket. all my backpain and troubles are muscle related. I found over time that certain things will aggravate the condidtion and I avoid them as best as possible but being aware of them helps a lot as well. Standing on concrete for a long time, or uneven ground under your feet. Get comfortable basicaly... when your not comfortable your body is telling you something.. get a better chair to sit at.. I hurt my lower back at age 19 and have been dealing with it ever since.. all muscular luckily though.. skeletal sucks

LOL that's hilarious, Pops! sheeeit, if they had that option when i got my bed, i def would have opted for it!!!
I hear ya, no cell phone here either. Work from home as well ... the only freedom you have sometimes is to just leave the house.. There are some stretches you can do that help, I'm sure you know how to if you been dealing with this for a long time... Best thing I found is when it starts to hurt.. get up and stretch and walk away for a little bit.. lay down on the floor bring the knees up to the chest one by one.. heating pad sometimes helps.. those muscles are knotting up so you need to relax them.... sucks
Doctor advice Joke........My doctor told me that, due to my bad back, I should sit on the toilet to pee. He doesn’t want me to pick up any heavy things.
Sheeeeeit, I was going to say who snuck in and got a pic of Mars bed? Frickin' hilarious.
Bud, sorry to hear about your back pain. I got in a bicycle wreck in the Oakland hills and did some major muscle muscle damage that lasted months. The first week I was flat on my back and it took 20 mins to get out of bed. Seems every move was wrong. It all eventually cleared up and no permanent damage that I'm aware of (well, maybe my head...haha) so I guess I was lucky. I sure hope you get back (no pun intended) to your chipper self soon.
