So I put a new fuel pump on my 340 and it is making a knocking sound, not steady just off and on. I know this is where the sound is coming from. It will do it a few times and in a few minutes it will do it again. Has any one else ever had this to happen? I'm going to get another one but I was just wondering if any one else had ever had this happen. I know the quality of parts has went down but this just don't sound right to me. What do you think ?? Thanks Ronnie

mechanical i assume? my wifes chevy pickup was doing the same thing and it was a reman mech pump that was less than 6 months old, replaced it and fixed the probmem-probably for another 6 months.............

Off topic, but I just had an Edelbrock "Street" 120 gph electric pump fail after 300 miles - on the road. The first identical pump lasted 35 thousand or more miles. I told Summit (they made good) and Edelbrock. Neither had knowledge of another similar failure.
