This is the second hatching in this nest this year. Is 2 hatchlings normal?

Should be swallows. Damn phone!

Fixed it for you . . . I know how annoying those phone "gotchas" can be . . . ( SMILE )

( I swear they have a mind of their own sometimes . . . )

I know that they make one hell of a mess in my Barn, So I do not allow them to nest.

I have several more under the shelter. Like them other than the mess. Use to kill'em now I leave them alone.

Not sure on the nesting habits but like having them around our cattle barns for insect control

Get an RC helicopter & just keep dogfighting & harranguing them, they'll pack it in & move eventually. It's what i did when i was a hangar keeper.

could be normal, depends, are they african or european?

It's a simple question of weight ratios. A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut. It could be carried by an African swallow! Oh yeah. An African swallow, maybe -- but not a European swallow, that's my point.
