Bar's Head Gasket repair and higher temps?

4 drives ago put a bottle of Bar's head gasket repair into my radiator. Now I'm noticing that my temp is ranging between 195-220 with a 180 thermostat.

Prior to the Bar's the car would run between 180-195.

What is going on? I drove it yesterday all day. It started at 195 and at the end of the day it was 210-220.

Any thoughts?
 
I will add that the game radiator is 26" but insides look nasty.
 
This is a temporary fix to get the car home to repair it properly. It is not meant to be a permanent solution.
 
So can a bottle of Bar's change the cooling of this car that much?
 
It starts to clog up the system over time. This is why it is a temporary fix.
 
Flush and clean and have rad serviced
if you still have leak us something like KW metalic seal and follow instructions
as it coats and seals then air dry
 
Just like everyone said, it's clogging the radiator tubes just like it's clogging the HG breach.
 
I presume you put the Bars in for a reason? Suspected head gasket leak? That could also relate to raised temp, but like the others said get the radiator cleaned out good. If it's a head gasket, fix that too, the "additives" don't usually last very long.
 
Blue Devil head gasket sealer works great for permanently sealing a leak in the cooling system or head gasket without clogging your radiator.

Small amount of coolant was getting into the heads.

I decided to drop the engine and trans. Install new head gaskets while I redo the suspension. Will also freshen up the 340 seals.

Although this will be the first time I have ever done any of this.

Isn't it amazing that they have everything in a jar to fix what ails your car. Stuff to stop coolant leaks, condition transmission seals, clean the internals of your engine, decarbonize the upper cylinder chambers, stop noisey lifters, fix leaky rear seals and the list goes on. Hell someone even came up with instant flat repair in a can including the air to inflate it. Isn't technology wonderfull, and really, bullshit does baffle brains. When I was young the only thing your engine ever needed was STP additive to keep it from burning oil.

Well, it worked. Just causing the temps to jump.
 
The "additives" are temporary & only fix "minor" things. I.e. swelling a seal a little bit, it's still only a temporary fix.
 
I should have suggested you pressure test the heads if you take them off to be sure you don't have a cracked head.
