Batter cable

I am getting ready to start my project and when I went to connect the negative terminal it was connected to the alternator mount and run all the way across the engine. Where is the proper location for the negative cable to connect. As it is the cable is 35 inches long. Thanks for any help

Usually on the drivers side cylinder head.

Thanks. Am betting even that will be a challenge. The car had a 440 swapped into it with power steering so the pump covers the drivers side front of the engine. It might be why the cable was moved

Where it belongs.. under the throttle spring bracket on the intake.

Thanks guys. It looks like the best option is gonna be the intake bolt at the throttle spring

Usually on the drivers side cylinder head.

On my original 6 barrel engine GTX RS23V0A******, the battery negative cable attaches to the engine at the first INTAKE MANIFOLD BOLT, with a ring terminal on the wire, acting like a flat washer.....
