Spent last three months rewiring my car, everything seems 2 b in place but when I put my battery on it sparks on the + terminal, was told it might b a hot wiring grounding bt I capped off all wires I'm my using indignation does it, any ideas of wt It might b

How bad are the sparks? Mine gives a little spark too. What order are you connecting the terminals? Try putting pos 1st.

Try a voltage draw or current draw test between the pos battery post and pos battery cable when disconnected. You will probably have a little draw, maybe .25 volts if it's more than that with everything off( doors closed) then you have a short somewhere. Something maybe wired in hot with ign off and may be drawing juice. I had a 5 volt draw because alt was shorted out internally.

As was said, ALWAYS connect the Positive (+) terminal first when installing and last when disconnecting. Any current draw, such as the door open (courtesy lights), glove box open (light) , clock, stereo with memory, etc. will show a small spark when you connect the ground (-) cable to the battery. This is normal. However, if you try and connect the ground cable and you get a big spark, you have a short somewhere and it needs to be addressed.

Probably a starter relay module thingy... Mine sparked a ton because it wasn't grounded. Then When my starter wouldn't kick out it would spark as well..

It's got quite a bit of spark almost seems like it wants 2 weld itself 2gether worthwhile just have 2 trace all my wiring make sure it's all correct

Are you absolutely sure that you are connecting the cables on the battery pos-pos neg-neg? Sounds trivial but it happens.

start disconecting hot wires, like starter, bulkhead and such to see when it goes away.then, once you know the circuit, find the draw with a continuity tester to the body.something is wired backwards or grounded if you are getting that much spark.

Easier way, is to start first disconnecting each fuse inside the fuse block, & see if the condition stops... then you can check that particular circuit.

That's wt I thought was battery wires might b crossed, bt they were correct, guess I'm gonna start testing it by the fuses next see if I can pin point it
