Yep, my chart starts at 65. No clue for the 64's.I am still interested in finding out what color caps were on the 64 cars.

You need a 27 series but make sure you get a battery (like many of the Wal Mart batteries) that have a flat top and (2) 3 opening caps. The cap kits will fit right in the openings. If you buy a completely flat top no maintenance battery without removable caps You need the stick on caps that are available. Here's what mine looked like before the cap kit. Make sure you measure the tray because a 27 series won't fin in a 24 series tray.Ok, I need the 1966 70 amp battery with red caps. what name brand battery do I buy to make this stuff work and LOOK correct? Ty
Wow. I'm surprised those guys don't know. I would be tempted to use the 65 colors. If the 64 information isn't out there no one can disclaim your decision. According to my book, all the wedge motor cars had red caps and the slant 6 and small blocks had green. In 67 they went to yellow for the 24 series.I just got off the phone with not only Joe Suchy but also Mike at Obsolete Parts and neither can give me a color although Mike seemed to think it was based on wether it was a group 24 or 27 as to what color the cap would be.

I would figure if car came with a Hemi it would have the big tray.? And the new battery would come with smooth sides for the decal.?You need a 27 series but make sure you get a battery (like many of the Wal Mart batteries) that have a flat top and (2) 3 opening caps. I ordered one of these and it worked out well. I know it's not original and you all know, but how many people can tell this is a Wal Mart battery? I'm not going to tell. Here's a link. They come from Europe so they take a while to get here. Be patient. They have a good selection of push in and glue on caps in 3 colors and different styles. Check your battery first to make sure they will work.
1/22 Update: there is a embossed "Mopar" side plate available.

Correct, just caps and stickers. These are not battery covers right? Just the caps and stickers?
Those are slick aren't they.
I got my cables from Frank Badalson - who works with Roger Gibson. I ordered mine by email with Frank, but I'm pretty sure they came out of Roger's parts inventory. Frank's email is what's listed at the top of the page. They are quality cables and are identical to the originals. How about battery cables? OEM repros, seems like there isnt a reputable maker out there. Last one I installed (69 A12 car) caused guages, horn and alternator to suddenly fail to work. Wonder if anyone else has had this problem?
Thanks in advance-
Yeah think I'll have to order one of these Red capped covers too. As soon as I can figure out problem #1..
Thanks!!
