Battery Topper Kit and cap color chart

Pardon my ignorance, but I am not understanding the snap-in vs glue on. This is not a plate that sits on top of the battery, correct? Do batteries still come with (fake) filling caps?

I have NAPA batteries and they are all flat topped and I do not see/feel provisions/bosses for a cap to be pushed in. In addition they have stickers all over them which do not appear to peel off very easily or cleanly.

Pics...pardon the dust lol

You will need the glue on caps.
Heat gun and the stickers will come right off............pull them off slowly or else you will have to peal off the stuck paper. Follow up with wax and grease remover.....save the stickers on a piece of cardboard for warranty if/when needed. I got my kit in less than 2 weeks.

:thankyou:

Just for shits and grins...I have an old Red Top repo Mopar battery that died and I saved it. Is it worth the trouble to take it apart and replace the cells in there or stuff a new battery in it or just use the topper and get the new Mopar sticker? I vaguely remember here or on ABO that did it with some success.

Gut it and stuff an Odyssey PC925 inside it. If you don't think you'll ever do that, drain the acid, flush it with water good, stuff it in a box and mail it to me.. I'll pay the shipping!! :D

A-ha! So it was you who did it! LOL For some reason I thought that there are 6-8 sealed cells in there (?) and it would just come apart without any acid-spillage.

At $400 for a new one , are they even available ?

No sticker kit , in reality will look like an original reproduction , but damn on that price

I don't hear any swishing around when I move it, but it came with the car when I got it in 08. So it looks like glue on caps for me! lol Thank you @dadsbee

I have a green top one, is this one used in a 66 Hemi car? Or do I need the bigger red top one?

Is there any guide for which decals are correct for specific years? Most interested in 66/67.

What color for 69 GTX anyone? Anyone have a cap order link?

I ordered one of these and it worked out well. I know it's not original and you all know, but how many people can tell this is a Wal Mart battery? I'm not going to tell. Here's a link. They come from Belgium so they take a while to get here. Be patient. They have a good selection of push in and glue on caps in 3 colors and different styles. Check your battery first to make sure they will work.

1/22 Update: there is a embossed "Mopar" side plate available.

The chart is on the first post. 440 should have yellow or red with a 48 series battery.
