Got a 68 charger (383), what is the easiest way to replace this seal? What kit is recomended? THX Keeper.

Got to drop the pan, and there is nothing easy about replacing that seal. Isn't any "kit", just buy the seal (which is two pieces) at any auto parts store (they may have to order it)

Is it a beginning of the season leak or one that has been there for awhile. Mine will get a beginning of the season leak and will leave a spot or two at the first drive or two and then it seals it self up when the main swells back up.

Indy Heads sells a complete kit for $70. You get a new billet aluminum retainer, bolts, alignment pins, vibran(sp) rear main seals and side seals. I used this after 2 unsucessful tries with the Felpro seals. Works great. You will also need oil pan gaskets.

all parts stores around here sell the fellpro rear main seal kit. Guess ill give it a shot. Any advise on a type of rtv to use on side seals etc? Actually any general advice on this matter would b huge....THX Keeper
