SWMBO and I went and saw Becoming Led Zeppelin on Imax this weekend. Completely worth the time, I'd give it a 9/10. If youre into this band, dont miss it. Sound track was fantastic and you learn much about the band (for instance both Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were session musicians on the song Goldfinger, for the 007 movie). It takes the band members from their earliest music experiences through the end of the album Led Zeppelin II. This includes previously unreleased interview footage of John Bonham.

My rock n roll honey saw them live in the mid 70's. Closest thing for me was watching "Celebration Day".

This was the only major band of the 70s that I chose not to go see live that I very much regret. I will indeed make this viewing, thanks....

what happen to the song remains the same ? that was a documentary about zeppelin

I'd say that was more just a film with concert footage and a few odd scripted fantasy scenes thrown in... this new one is a proper documentary, as per the usual definition.

I'm seeing it on Thursday, cant wait! :D

I'm grateful I got to see them over here in 1979 at the first of 2 open air gigs at Knebworth house. Missed out on the Celebration Day reunion gig in London in 2007 tho, along with a few million other ticket applicants

Put it on the must watch list

When my wife and I went to see Celebration Day at the theatre, we were the youngest attendees. Old farts with canes, walkers, wheel chairs, pony tales etc. They barely had the volume up. We could hear the movie playing in the next theatre. Some of the oldsters started yelling, turn it up, it's Led Zeppelin! A couple of them went out to the lobby and found the manager. Asked him to crank it up. Went up two clicks.

I wonder how many senior discount tickets they'll sell?
Boomer and GenX was 95% of the audience. I saw Zep on Saturday night, then saw the Super Bowl Sunday.

Based n the quality of the halftime musical entertainment, we were raised in the right era.

Just got home from seeing the 10:00 EST movie showtime, just me and one other couple there! As you said @GrabberOrange69, its definitely worth going to see and they had a great soundtrack. I’m glad I saw it and I would love to go back again and see it.

I saw it today (2/16/25) and am eager to see it again 2/17.

It's very well done. There's a lot of current interview footage that can get dry but the editing around the interviews as well as the concert footage from 69/70 are well worth seeing.

If you see it, watch the the reactions of the survivors listening to a Bonham interview.
