Before you fill up you might want to........

ya and they're just shovin this **** down our throats. That's our gov't for you!! I have written all my local politicians about this last fall.

Bet this will be moved by days end lol. The more i talk to the more i find is that most and i guess its women more then men, because there for the most part not car gal's, yes, there's exceptions Marla.. I didn't forget you and i know some, i think you know what i mean.. But How many do we know outside of our car world that when you ask if they have any idea what ethanol is... does. Most i talk to just say they wouldn't make it if it didn't work good, in there own little world maybe but true. You have to drive is the first argument.. The one woman spoke a little on it, people not really understanding.

snoops on e15 Just the facts less the propaganda.

Bottom line It is a flex fuel like e85 it is not regular gasoline. Don't be a dip switch and put diesel in a gas truck.
And don't run 87 octane gas with 13 to 1 compression.
Or take a look at Sunoco Race gas .com

Education is your best protection.
looks like NASCAR is using it.

IMHFO the biggest problem I see, is most people are clueless on effects of fuel or any gasoline additive or alcohol in your fuel system, how to prevent problems, caused by water or condensation or even corrosion/rusting in your fuel system, even rubber deterioration, from using these products like Algae, Sugar Cane, Corn/Grain or Wood Alcohols, like E85/Ethanol or a form of Methanol or many of the other harmful fuel supplements/additives, that are supposed to be a flex fuel or better for the environment, that can cause harmful issues, if not treated or maintained properly... the Un-educated masses, is the real problem.... along with the federal govt. mandating this type stuff, in many parts of the US, with out doing the proper research, of effects & causes, because of some shady/corrupt green party environmentalist affiliations or DC corn or grain lobbyists, money grab, pushing their products & having them forced on the un-educated general public...

also lean/fuel ratio issues &/or other fuel related govt. subsidized, not proprerly tested, before they're marketed type products...

E-15 will damage the fuel injectors on ALOT of cars. E-10 already does enough wear, but E-15 keeps pushing it. An engine built for gasoline is optimized for gasoline. And do a little experiment, get a car from 2000+ put premium in it, then put regular, it will run like all sorts of crap because the computer will get confused, E-15 has UP to 15% so there is no set number.

All those with carburators will be lucky, We can all run hydrogen with a carb hat and a little more routine maintence. It will be the future.

One thing yall really want to watch out for, but should not be an issue with your cars is two stroke. So I am told the specific gravity of alschol and gas are different so is the S.G og two stroke oil. Supposedly if you let premix sit long enough the Gas. oil and alachol will seperate. Providing no oil or lubrication to your engine= big trouble quickly. I may google that and see if I can find any supportable facts on it. So far it is hear say.

''What's in it that makes it so bad for your car, because I mean you know it's great for the environment I would assume''

Aaaand that's when I stopped listening to them talk haha

Edit: Unrelated to the story but I was told by an aircraft tech that when you are pumping gas pump at a slow speed and you will get more fuel and less vapor. Apparently when you are pumping at full speed a lot of the fuel turns to vapor as it travels through the pump and hose, and we pay for these fumes ;) Can't say for sure but since I started doing it I swear my gas gauge sits just a tad above what it normally would (I almost always only put in $20 or $40 at a time) I'm going to have to test that theory with a gas can some time

They should not have included ethanol in gas. It's getting harder to find real 100% gas anywhere. Here in Stillwater we are lucky to have several stations that sell real gas for about .10 cents more a gallon

Around here about half or more of the stations have labels on the pumps that say 10% ethanol. Shouldn't that be labeled as E10 and not sold as regular gas?

I am freaked......all my cars are over 7 years old................I sometimes drive 50 mi to get real premium 93 oc' gas..with NO ethanol.....I bring along extra gas cans to fill.
BTW: My Snowblower works & starts GREAT! on REAL GAS. no surging & etc.

Yes it should be labeled as E10 it is the same way here so you have to look at the pump before buying gas

with any alcohol % of added you will get worse mileage too, you need 70% {70% more consumption per alcohol %} of the fuel consumption with any alcohol fuels, so your engine if not tuned for the added %'s of alcohol, will run lean & get worse fuel mileage, you will potentially burn 70% more fuel at the % volume of alcohol added, to make the same power, it will help with detention slightly, but only to a certain level, only if tuned properly for using the specific % of alcohol, so for the most of the Cars/Pick-up trucks out there, that aren't flex fuel capable, some of those are really marginal too, it kind of negates any good reasoning for using alcohol, just to extend the supply of gasoline, you just end up burning more fuel, in the long run... stupid freaken' EPA & clueless Federal Govt. idiots, lobbyists or the stupid masses of sheeple that believe in &/or vote for them idiots...
