Best and worst car show accessory

I like seeing beautiful cars but I REALLY like seeing cars built by the owners. To me, the cars seem more real and functional. When I ask about the car, I get tired of hearing Jim Bob did the engine, Joe Bob did the transmission, Dan PanelBammer did the bodywork, Earl Scheib's brother Merle did the paint, my buddy "itchy" Stitchy did the upholstery...

I created this for my Roadrunner, because I didn't want to be like everyone else with a big sign in front of the car, so I put this in the front windshield, plus it keeps the dash out of the sun! It shows the specifications and what it looked like before and during the rebuild

I also have these ruffians in my back seat! The kids get a kick out of them when they see em!

How about the Corvette guys with the Corvette sunglasses, Corvette sun visor/ball cap, Corvette canopy, Corvette lawn chairs, Corvette coolers, Corvette wrist watch, Corvette jacket, etc.

That's why they drive GM= General Morons!

I don't understand why anyone uses the phrase..."Just sayin".
It adds nothing to a sentence. Whether spoken or written, it makes no sense to me.

It's another way of using the exclamation point, but using/saying it in text instead? I guess I'll have to stop using it then to keep you happy. Just sayin :poke::poke:

I'm not so arrogant to feel that people need to live the way I want them to, I just find some words and phrases pointless and ignorant.
Remember the "Please STOP saying this" thread?

I hate to say it buddy but I have drooled over your car three times now at shows here locally and I have never once taken the time to read your sunscreen.

The worst part of car shows is watching a mustang owner mopping the dust off there cars every 15 minutes .
I don't know about the "worst", but I've never really understood that either. Shouldn't you just wipe it down, wax it or whatever it needs BEFORE leaving home.

Thats what a mopar owner would do . mustang owners are a different breed .

To each his own. The way someone displays their car is their personal thing. Just like someone keeps their house inside and out. It might not be what you like but it makes them happy.

I use to go to a lot of shows and would see beautiful cars all covered up, inside and out, with models, trinkets, dolls, stuffed animals, posters, ect. I'd think to myself that it looks like it would be a real nice car if it wasn't covered up so bad that you can't even tell what it is. But that's what the owner wants. More than likely he bought the car already done or he wouldn't cover it up.

I don't see this near as much as I used to. Here's one I saw a couple of weeks ago. We used to call them "Walmart Specials"...

The best that I can recall was at a small show in Madera CA this year. A guy with a 70 Charger had a 5 car diorama of the various stages his car was in from when he got it to its current state:

The discussion would never get that involved. We just say our piece, then ignore.

Best: American flag(s) tastefully displayed around the car.
Next best: Binder filled with photographs showing the progression of the restoration along with "back-in-the-day" photos if there are any for the car on display.

For me, the best is when a car owner "tells a story". Look, my 70 Road Runner is a respectably nice car, but there are tons of 383 Road Runner's out there, so why would someone linger longer with mine than another? I have a book that I lay on the fender and it tells about my drive across country. People seem to really enjoy it and I get a lot of nice comments. I have a board too with some specs. If people DON'T want to read any of it that's cool too.

Just my 2 cents

I am not a fan of the dolls and crap. But this picture, that I snagged from the Internet, is pretty cool. I had a friend that owned a B5 blue Superbird, an sent him this pic while he was laid up in the hospital. (Not his 'Bird) He got a kick outta the picture. Unfortunately, he passed away a few month later.
