So, after solving one problem, I move onto the next. There is definitely an issue with the tuning on my carb since I got the car, so I plan to take apart the car, clean it, and rebuild it with the proper jetting and fix the float issue (car stalls after heavy braking or taking an incline quickly). I plan to get the edelbrock calibration kit so I have the right metering rods and jets, but....
I definitely want to get gaskets that will withstand the ethanol in the gas as I live in Long Island and there are no gas stations to get real gas. I see some places also sell steel accelerator pumps to eliminate the weaker plastic factory one. Some even have BRASS FLOATS!!!
I see the edelbrock kit, and various kits on ebay, but do not have much knowledge on brands as I have only rebuilt motorcycle carbs. Is the edelbrock kit made for ethanol? I want to rebuild this once and not have to worry about it again.
Any input would be helpful
