Nothing like watching my daughter go down the track in her street car. From last night.

Went 14.37 @95 mph. Not bad for a very stockish 4000lb 383. And it will go faster once I address a few things.

Very cool, I hope she enjoys the time & doing something you both love...

That's great!!! My daughter has the speed addiction as well!

Second that on the way coolness! I let my daughter drive my corvette when she was 12, she still talks about it, She is 45 now.

She does. We don't do it enough. The other daughter on the other hand.......
2 of the 4 I raised got into 4x4s, my old Jeeps & my old Toyota SR5 4x4s
we'd do the Rubicon trail annually, drove them a lot, gifted them the rigs...
They both still have them too...
They all married truck/car guys too, I was glad for that fact
good young men...
But never really got into my addiction of Drag racing, they saw me spend $$
& have to do all that travel...
They'd come/travel with me a lot, when home schooled & stay back sell tee-shirts etc.
Then roam the pits for boys, or walk my dog, ride the quad etc.
when we were working on the car/s...

I offered to build them drag cars, attempted to do the Jr Dragster stuff
it wasn't very popular at 1st late 1990's early 2000s
& they didn't have the interests either
instead, I built a nice (my old) Jeep & a nice (my old) 85 SR5 efi 4x4 for the Twins

the other 2 likes sportier cars & they got what they wanted too,
Toyota 89 Turbo Supra, Mitsubishi Turbo Eclipse of all cars,
that's what they liked...
Mom's influence a bit there...
I tried to get them interested in old muscle cars or old trucks etc.
they thought it was old man stuff :poke:

They kind of liked autocross, but wouldn't follow through much
but learned about cars & what's what
but, school, sports & boys were more important...

Props to you guys getting your daughters (and sons) into all manner of cars, trucks and jeeps! Precious memories! ruffcut

Great stories, guys!
I taught our daughter how to drive a stick in our Hemi Satellite. She did very well, but she prefers the push buttons in the '64 Belvedere.

My youngest took to riding bikes (with motors) like stink on....you know. She also liked going fast and liked going to the track but most of her going fast was if someone else was driving the car or go cart. And then one day she didn't want to go to the track anymore or 'ride' go carts anymore etc..... :(

Similar thing with our daughter, Cranky. She liked learning how to drive the stick - and she did just fine with it, but she was a little frustrated that she wasn't better right away. Then the Mrs. drove it and rowed through the gears like a pro (she was raised on a farm). I think that ticked off daughter and I don't think she's ever driven it again since.

Well, her mom was her friend......and not a parent....

@64BEL My wife at the time was a friend to her kids instead of being a parent. No matter what the kid, the wife was fine with it.....

The mother/daughter relationship can be complicated - especially the adolescent years. At times the mother can do no right in the daughter's mind. Fortunately for us, it was all part of growing up to become a mature young woman.
