Big Block Valve Cover Pics Thread?

Got a pair on a motor currently..... but they've got a coat of turquoise on em. The gold wasn't presentable anymore.

Would love to see a pic of this! If I came across a rough set of Direct Connection or Moroso covers, I had considered painting them the same color as my motor. Unfortunately I have terrible timing and painted my motor with the VHT SP126, which was discontinued about two months after I bought it. I think I'd have to repaint my whole motor if I wanted to paint match the valve covers.

Cal Custom valve covers on the 440 in my 70 Challenger T/A. They were plain, but I painted them with VHT wrinkle finish paint.

Moroso chrome on the 440 in my 74 D200. I'm not a fan of the Moroso name on them, but the tall Direct Connection valve covers hit the heater box. The Moroso covers are a nice heavy gauge metal.

Chrome valve covers and air cleaner came from the factory with the 426 street wedge engine option in '65 . . .

I bought a set of fabricated covers and had them powdercoated to resemble factory 273 commando covers.

I have not seen many fabricated valve covers on big blocks, cool to see they are out there!

Pull your pants up and put the camera away, I'm talking about your rocker covers. You know the ones, the awesome ones, which, due to very sad circumstances, can never be repeated.

Sorry. I thought I had a poor pic of the reinforcements I made to keep the moroso's from leaking, but I can't find even that.
And the car is 250 miles away at the moment.
I did use the Mopar over-the-counter paint for the turquoise. MUCH better paint than their race hemi orange.
Turquoise of any brand is getting hard to find in the parts stores.

The first set of 5 color powder coat she ever did and still the best...IMO

Never did install them. Was going to paint the intake to match and haven't yet. It's on the list.

I just put them over the stock V/C's for this pic.

Don't forget the 1967-specific chrome steel valve covers on the 440 Magnums from Ma herself.
I have a set of those on Fred that I specifically went hunting for.

(The steel is a heavier gauge than the ones later issued by DC/MP....)
I got VERY lucky on price on these originals - seems these went nuts on prices right after I got them.

The decent repops are about $300 and nice originals twice that from what I've seen...
Me, I snagged a set that was off in a corner of eBay in 2018 and got them for about $100 -
and the prices were already climbing. If not for that set, I'd have been screwed (and probably
would have wound up buying the usual Mopar Performance ones or some such).
