Big problems with Oroville, CA dam

Yeah, that's just part of the problem with that state.

What I don't understand is it seems they have water shortages all the time in California but 75% of all rain water runs off into the ocean because of lack of reservoirs.:wtf:

Dam are dangerous and no one wants to live below one in California. Strange they think it is ok any where else.

Just now read where the state water board is estimating 200 million to repair.....so far.

I have always wondered why there's no tunnels to save the excess water off to the east of the mountains....

This happens every El Niño winter.
But not this bad.

People like to rip on California, but I like to eat. The reservoirs are there to meter out water to farms during the inevitable dry seasons. They could use more but the effect of building dams there is much greater than say Texas, where almost 99% of the lakes are man made reservoirs. And even with all those dams, texas was not immune to drought. The amount of agriculture, tech and economy that comes out of CA is more than most countries. If you dont like the politics i guess we could always give it back to Mexico.

I was out there for 4 yrs, back in the late 80`s, mexico had already started reclaiming it then !

Lol yeah I'm not moving there either. Nice to visit, and the almonds are good.

Nah, eff the Mexicans,,,anyone gets it back from US Born & Naturalized Americans,,,,,, then it's the North American Indians should have it.

I'm in Cali. Sweet & Sour. Be nice to get rid of the control freaking left. & the illegal aliens....my problem is not their illegal status,,,,,my problem is their bilking of taxpayers & the money they make working here they ship out of the economy. & their ******* litter.....course that's a problem that covers all the people.

Why, because they got to North America first?

Why, because they got to North America first?
Well, They were indigenous to the land & Our Ancestors came over & pretty much scammed & bogarted them into limited acreage. Mexicans did the same to them too, didn't they? If the sins of previous generations have to be paid by Us, then imo the Indians should be the beneficiaries. But they going to have to move my *** off by force:)

The dam is just north of me here in Sacramento, and for years they have talked about raising the height of the dam, for more water storage.
But all the NIMBY's (Not in my back yard) keep putting up a big protest in the state legislature, and water buracrats in this state, nothing ever comes of it.
And they have (had) plans for another reservoir in Northern California, and the same thing with all the NIMBY's.
And then all the earthquake NIMBY's come out of the woodwork and say you can't build one there.
So nothing ever gets done in this stupid state, that i live in.
