The emergency spillway is fine, so far anyway
the lake is going down/draining @ 4 inches an hour,
{what a waste} they are trying to get it some 30 ft down
to support the impending rain storm we have coming, this week
supposedly some 4+ day of heavy rain coming, to that & our areas...

I feel bad for the people in the path or down stream...
I hope & wish them all the best, stay dry & safe...

I have family & property there too
& we/I pay dearly for the taxes too...

fucken' really pisses me off, they let it get to this point...

Partisanship aside, looks like federal engineers signed off on the spillway in 2005. To be fair they probably did not anticipate a winter like this in the sierras. Still the spillway was not up to snuff and with the snowpack this year they may have more trouble coming up.

And dont count on Trump weighing in on this, he has enough of his own disasters to deal with this week. Like a (now thankfully former) national security adviser who is basically in bed with the russians.

Since Colorado is bedrock and doesn't see earthquakes, I guess you don't have to worry about dams. All we had to worry about was some dumb-*** rancher whacking us in the head with a shovel because he thought we might be messing with his 'water rights'. Water rights are sacred and the fix-it tool is a shovel...Never-mind that we had our own rights.
