Big problems with Oroville, CA dam

Since Colorado is bedrock and doesn't see earthquakes, I guess you don't have to worry about dams. All we had to worry about was some dumb-*** rancher whacking us in the head with a shovel because he thought we might be messing with his 'water rights'. Water rights are sacred and the fix-it tool is a shovel...Never-mind that we had our own rights. If your emogie is meant for me, it reminds me of an old saying: "It's better to be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt."
I would have kept my mouth / keyboard quiet except you asked for it. LMAO.

The latest I've heard is lowering the water level 50ft. Jeez, that's a LOT of water! Sorry for you guys out there.

That is a huge drop of the water level. I guess it is good insurance from a safety stand point until the dam can be repaired and or raised to hold a rush like this.

I asked, tongue in cheek, to keep on deriding California and all its residents, figuring that sooner or later the fun would stop. Don't remember ever asking for a personal "flip-off"...but, as I said, if that's the best you've got...

Who in this world takes an emogi seriously? Don't go all libtard on me Dave or I'll have to ask that that you remove the first half of your user name.:poke:

It sure seems easy for people from other states to talk **** about California. Go ahead...Look where YOU live and tell me that you LIKE the high humidity, every project car needing $10,000 of AMD metal, the frozen tundra, the 0 degree days, the 7 month winters, the barren fields, the shoveling of 10 feet deep snow JUST to go check the mail, the inbred, toothless tank top wearing, "Larry the Cable Guy" neighbors that you see all of the time. See? Seems pretty rude, right?
No state is perfect. We all have flaws. When other states have natural disasters I don't recall any Californians bashing you guys. I can't imagine living in a cold or humid climate but I don't call you guys idiots for doing so, at least not to your face or on line. Show some civility.

'Kern' and others. C'mon, most of us are jealous(except for earthquakes!). I'm listening to Everly Bros.-Melbourne '89 pn youtube right now while typing. Some of my fondest memories of So.Cal '69-'70.. Just having a little fun, but my previous post a couple up was serious.

My wife's uncle use to own a Toyota dalership in Anahine. The rust free California car along the coast therory is a farst as the salt sucked in of the ocean rust the crap out of everything. Granted California is not all coast.

mopar 3 B , and I remember taking a brandnew Browning .30/06 semi-auto into the desert for a tryout. Simply awesome. Their salt air is truly there, but not as fast as our salted roads!!!

I mean no personal disrespect but the state of California's liberal, tree huger, environmental do gooder attitude and thinking it meeds to shove it ideals down the nations throat has made it a national joke.
Yes the fact that the dam is in danger and the disruption of peoples is a tragic thing. But if this dam was last inspected 12 years ago what is with that?

Kern is right, there is no catch all state. We're just having a little fun dude, kind of like the inter-service rivalry in the military. Relax. It sounds as if the dam issue issue is under control, no real harm done.

My favorite part of your state is north of San Fran along the coast. We vacation there at least once a year.

No state is perfect except for Colorado but then again we have way to many Californians moving in for the legal pot.

What to do, what to do.

I agree that the politics of this state is a huge messy shitstorm. I never voted these ******** in place, the fuckface Liberals in the big cities did. Guys like me just want to live in a nice place without being overtaxed or over regulated.

And we go to store, not hear every other person in there speaking Spanish!!!

So I take it that Kern & 5.7 don't really like San Fran either??? Course Sacramento probably has to be added in also? Never been to 'Frisco but the country IS beautiful. Gotta love Jerry Brown,Feinstien & Pelosi; and others. I once e-mailed the Att.Gen. out there on a matter concerning a failed insurance company that had an annuity for me and it took the incoming A.G. office to answer me.?

I live in the Central Valley, hours from the libs!!

I live in the heart of the madness. Oh the suffering I go through every day....:BangHead:

Think good thoughts for that dam - I was to go up there this weekend to pick up my latest project car, which is garaged just off of the Feather River below the dam, but obviously cannot (the National Guard had the area quarantined until today). And with more rain coming it will probably be a few weeks more before I get another chance. I don't think the Charger will float too good (sic). :drama:

If all of the idiot politicians here immediately dropped dead, the average IQ of the state would rise along with prosperity and personal satisfaction.
I love the sights, the weather and many of the people. I just hate that so many of the states laws and regulations are decided by two relatively small parts of the state.

Which is also why I'm thankful for the electoral college. With out it, California would have elected Hillary.

I hear we are bailing the situation out with federal funds.
you got it right. we have earthquakes, tornadoes, ice storms, a lot of snow and freezing weather(once in a while), 100 plus degree weather and rusty cars. now why did I move back here from apple valley ?? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- sooner born and sooner bred, when I die I`ll be sooner dead.
