Wanted to go with a different brand tire other than BFG Radial TA so bought tires from Summit.
I spoke with Summit rep before purchase and she told me they rotate out their tires every 90 days - so I bought 2 rear tires in 275/60/15
One tire was manufactured in Nov 22 and the other March 23
Also when looking at where blue dye is on sidewall it looks like sidewall is beginning to crack
So, do these tires have premature sidewall cracking or is this normal?
Summit said they will take tires back
Your thoughts?

Washing them will see if it's anything other than the dye. Do a small unnoticeable spot, as cleaning them good may mean you can't return.

22 date code speaks to their change out every 90 days thing.

What's the oldest date code on a new tires you guys would accept? I'm curious because i ordered a set of tires yesterday from an online retailer. If they're too old i'll send them back but how old is too old?

I would say within one year. so if you are buying 4/25 no older than 4/24.
I was buying a set of Cooper's, one date was 5 months old.The other was 4 years old.
The tire salesman said "Don't worry about it" No thanks was my reply.

Those appear to be Mickey Thompson S/T tires which are the same as Cooper Cobras. I run them on my ERA Cobra Roadster, black side out. Excellent tires.

I recall my cooper cobras having that exact same look on the sidewalls. A good scrubbing takes that **** off. They’re not cracked.

Yes they are MT's Sportsman S/T tires.
I have a set for the front also but the cracking around the blue stuff is not nearly as bad. Got the fronts from Jegs.
I did not know they were the same as the Coopers.
The local guy here at Discount said he could not get MT any more that's why I did Summit/Jegs thing

Good Nylon scrub brush and a can of powdered Comet will take that blue overspray off and they'll look fine.

If not send them back.

The date issue is worth noting. I would be a bit annoyed but….
If you are like me where you sometimes wear a tire out before it ages out, it isn’t a problem.
The last time I ordered tires through Summit, there was a shipping issue. They ended up shipping three tires instead if the pair that I ordered. Because I’m not a dirtbag, I sent the third one back.

Bought these Coopers mounted and balanced from Summit. Under one year date code. To the door. On the car. O problems. Old guys drool. Crippled parking rules.

Send that sh!t back. If I'm buying new tires they have to be less then 12 months old

Used to buy from Tirecrawler in Downey, California. Office Hottie would go out to rack to confirm dates on actual tires purchased. Out of business now. Dates are overated.

Dates are overated. On bias ply tires i will agree, but on radials anything over 7 years old will blow, even sitting still with less than 100 miles on them. The biggest failures I have had were BF Goodrich. The only radials i have had good luck with on age is Cooper tires.

The two rears are blown, less than 50 miles, but we're about 10 years old when the blew. Exactly where it sits.
