Hi Members
I have a problem with my speedometer. At higher speed between 30-90mph it’s very accurate and works fine. But when I take off it bounces between 0-25mph as long as I get to a decent speed.
I already installed a new cable and lubricated all mechanical plastic pieces inside.
It wasn’t always like that my speedo was working fine once

did u lube the cable ??

The next step would be to open and remove the speedometer gear in the transmission and inspect it as those are plastic gears that are prone to deterioration and loss of teeth, which affect the readings of the speedometer...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

I run into this now and then in my Charger, and in some of my older motorcycles. Usually it's lack of lube on the cable, a kink in the cable routing, or lack of lube in the cable drive unit or the gauge itself.

There's a product you can get at motorcycle shops that I use, it is called "dri-slide". Doesn't leave residue, doesn't collect dirt or grit. You can also get a similar product at bicycle shops, it's used for chain lube.
