Brake dust

So I guess I can blame a cheap brake shoe for now and keep an eye on it.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I ran a magnet along the wheel as suggested and nothing stuck to it.
Here is a picture of my RF brake assembly, does it look to installed correctly?

Looks correct.

I think you'll be ok after awhile as the shoes wear in. Also with the type of wheel that you have, they let a lot more dust through to the outside than with a factory steel wheel. As I stated before, the material that you get on the replacement shoes isn't always as good as the original material. You can pay more for a better shoe or even more for a different compound.

Disc pads are no exception. I have a good metallic set on the front of my Sebring and I'm constantly cleaning the brake dust off of my aluminum wheels. If it gets wet, the dust will even rust. If I go with a more abrasive compound pad, they will tear up the rotors.

Autozone specials??? As GTX said drums shouldnt put out thst much after a few miles... Suggest biying a quality shoe from Raybestos...

These were the shoes that were on it when I bought the car, the PO did say they were relatively new but Im not sure.
I have put probably 350 km on the car so far.

When you cleaned the wheels, just soap and water? No extra sprays to glossen the tires, like the A word?

my guess at the A spelling was still too far off for spell check

Just a rag actually as they were brand new out of the box. Put the tires on, wiped them to get any fingerprints off and thats it. I cant spell that word either :)
