Hi guys, just a quick question. Sometimes the brakes on my 68 RR need to be pumped a few times before they release, if the car has been sitting for a bit. Could this just be air in the line, or could i have a vacuum problem with the booster or master cylinder? I am not really familiar with the brake system, so if im out to lunch let me know, lol. I really wont be able to test this until the spring when the car is back on the road, but its getting close to spring and i am getting excited and i don't want to run into any delays on getting this bad boy out. :3gears:

I just got the car a little over a month ago and the previous owner mentioned this to me and i seen it happen first hand when taking it off the flat bed.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Kyle

You need to pump them to get them to release? That has to be a booster issue. You can try capping the vacuum line to the booster and see how it acts. Just remember you will have to push like hell to get them to apply with no vacuum. I would set the car up on jackstands and see if all the wheels turn free. Then start it and see if they are free. If not, pull the vacuum line and see if they release.

to expand rebels idea, see if you can get them to stick with it up in the air.if it is just one wheel then your problem is there,if just the whole rear or just the front then the spit indicates another problem.if its all of them, that would be a differnt prob.try what he said and continue from there if that dont solve your prob.

thanks for the info guys, if i run into any problems in the spring when i am doing this, i will let you know, lol. thanks again!
