Brewers quote.....

HA,ha. Tell me about it.

Goon, if your going to sell your 4 speed set up let me know what all you have please. I might just need some of it. Thanks.

Sure Ghost, I'll be selling everything but the pedal assembly eventually but I don't think my swap will be happening for quite some time. I wasn't planning on buying everything for the swap just yet but opportunity arose and I jumped on the opportunity to get in on it with 747 but I have some other decisions to make for the car before I go ahead so I don't start a snowball effect. This whole summer might just be drive and enjoy with the 4 speed.

................. Thanks everyone for chiming in on this, and the support you all give this outfit via testimonials shows me that they are legit and that they would be a great source for this issue. Thanks.

I've been working on gathering parts for my 70 RR 4 speed swap for over a year. All in I will be under $4k which includes a rebuilt date correct trans from Passon (I had a core to trade in which saved me some $$). Also includes a new repop bellhousing and new clutch. It took a lot of time finding the correct parts on the forum, CL and ebay, but I'm not in a hurry.

I would like to know how Brewers price compare to Passion on their complete change over kit. . Been a while since I compared, but I though Brewers was lower. And I know it is going to be hard to beat Brewers customer service..................................MO

I learned long ago about Hot Rods. Learn to do it yourself. Educate yourself on what fits and what doesn't. Learn how to tell whats worn out and whats not. Learn how to locate parts. Learn how to repair components. Learn how to fabricate. When you do the end result will be less money spent for a car you can be proud of. Brewer and Passon are both great to deal with. Hunt around gather what you can used, maybe even a usable trans. I've found more than one 4 speed that was completely usable. I've modified parts from 3 speed manuals as well. Then buy what you can't find new. Never give up. The amount you spend is relative to what you have. We always say "the rich guys spend it like we would if we had it".

Only way to know is to contact Passon, you already have Brewer's quote. Give Jamie Passon a call or email him. I spoke to him a few times and met him. He's a nice guy and will answer your questions.

I understand and agree with everything said here. I am trying to find some things and I have a 40 year background in mechanics so I'm not without skills. I did score a FORD 9" this morning from a fella up the road. He has a 1974 Ford F-150 Custom, 4 speed, 4x4, pick up. I can get the C7AW-E 9" out of it and anything else I want as long as when I'm done I haul it 4 miles to the scrapyard and give him the cash I get for the scrap. Good deal. I'm going to pull the clutch and brake pedals and 4 speed linkages, the rear end and driveshaft. It has a V8 , either a 289 or 302.
